There are four main theories of personality as it is studied today. There is Psychodynamic, Humanistic, Trait, and Social Learning. These four represent most all of the assessment tests that we use as well. The first, Psychodynamic theory is: a psychological approach to personality assessment. The basis of the psychodynamic theory is measurement of the unconscious thoughts, feelings, and motives. This theory also measures conflicts and represses problems from early life (Axia College, 2010, Week 6 Reading). The psychodynamic theory assesses through use of the projective tests and personal interview methods.…

The analysis will explain the strengths and weaknesses of that particular type. It will discuss the benefits employers and clinicians may have when utilizing the test. Finally, it will demonstrate what I learned about my personality through the exercise.…

The test looks at four different dichotomies of personality that are seen in people. It consists of four basic dichotomous indices: extroversion/introversion; sensing/intuitive; thinking/feeling, and judgment/perception. These dichotomies make up 16 possible distinctive types of personalities. These preferences are measured in the instrument in order to know the person’s personality type. The first is known as the favorite world. This dichotomy is to understand if the person prefers to focus on the inner or outer world. This would be to know as introversion (I) or…
The results of my test results are as followed: extravert 19%, sensing 2%, feeling 22%, and judging 9%. I have a slight preference of extraversion over introversion, a slight preference of sensing over intuition, slight preference of feeling over thinking, and judging over perceiving. This makes my personality type ESFJ.…
There are two types of personality. Type A and Type B. Type A personality is high strung and energetic and Type B personality is calm and easy going. There are always two ways of measuring personality. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, used by colleges, businesses, and family, and the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory used by psychologists to help diagnose patients. These tests are important because you can make the most out of your personality if you are aware of your personality traits. That’s what I plan to get out of this lesson, is making the most out of my…

To understand how the personality assessment and theories work one would have to understand what personality is and why each method is different. Personality is the set of emotional qualities and ways of behaving that makes a person different from other people, (Merriam-Webster, 2014). My personality is something that I have had since birth. It defines who I am and how others view me. Some people have outgoing personalities while others prefer to stay home or in other quiet places. I have always been a person that enjoys seclusion. After taking the Jung Typology Test, I now understand my personality. This test has helped me to define my strengths as well as my weaknesses which will help me in my academic career.…
First I took the personaily test that stated that my personality type is ENTJ. For me to obtain an understanding of my personality type, it is important for me to develop an interpretation of the meaning of ENTJ. Briefly, the ‘E’ refers to Extroversion (vs. Introversion), which means that I am outgoing and tend to focus on the outer world of people and things. The ‘N’ refers to Intuitive (vs. Sensing), which means my interests lie in relationships, and I focus on the future with a view towards patterns and possibilities. The ‘T’ refers to Thinking (vs. Feelings), which means I tend to base decisions primarily on thinking things through instead of emotions. The ‘J’ refers to Judging (vs. Perceptive), which means I prefer to approach life in a more planned and organized manner and like to have things settled. On an overall perspective, as an EFTJ, I am a warm, empathetic, responsive, and responsible person. I am highly attuned to the emotions, needs, and motivations of others. I look to find potential and good in everyone, and I enjoy helping others to fulfill their potential. I can be a catalyst for individual and group growth, as I am loyal and responsive to praise and criticism. I am sociable, a good facilitator to others in a group and can provide inspiring leadership.…
The Myers-Briggs Personality Test was developed in the 1940’s by Isabel Briggs Myers and Katharine Briggs. This test assesses your preferences for how you learn, communicate, work with others, and work (in general) by analyzing your preferences to 93 questions. There is no time limit on this test but most people need 15-30 minutes to take it. This test is recommended for individuals not groups. The test is available online for roughly $50 or you can take it with a Myers-Briggs professional. If you take the test online your score will appear on the screen once you are done. If you take it with a professional, the professional will score the test and explain the results to you. The results will tell you your preference in 4 pairs of personalities. The four pairs are extraversion/introversion, sensing/intuition, thinking/feeling, and judging/perceiving. In my classroom, I will use the information from this test to create lessons that take into account all my students…

Of the many ways that exist to classify and conceptualize individual differences, some are obvious and somewhat visible, such as gender, race, language, origin and / or social background. Other forms, perhaps not as visible, are nonetheless influential distinctions such as culture or personality. The personality, like many things in life can be difficult to explain, is what makes every human being different, unique and exceptional. Today, the personality is an issue around the world. It reflects who we really are. Although most people use the term "personality" to identify the most obvious characteristics of a persons, psychologists are addressed in regards to this to explain why people with similarity in genetic background, experience and motivations can react quite differently to the same situation, and to explain why people with different genetic, experience and / or motivations past, but similar reactions to a single event. I intend to share with you my account of the personality, as it defines me as an individual and finally I will discuss what factors make a personality test is reliable and valid.…
The purpose of taking the personality test is to get a raw idea of how our behaviours and everyday actions tell us about our personality. Even though we or the ones closed to us can be trusted judges on our personality, a personality test may unfold more about our personality that we or our loved ones may have overlook. It is a good idea of taking the personality test because this test was well prepared by many expert researchers who have dedicated their lives to study about the human personality and the factors that caused each and every one of us to be unique and different from one another. One of the example of such test is in the website http://test.personality-project.org/. Thus, if we answer the questions truthfully, the result would be the closest idea to our personality.…
