Typing The Final Reflection
Typing the final reflection paper was a challenge. I had consolidated my thoughts about the class. Basically, it came down to my overall appreciation of how the class was taught.

The major I'm working is an AA in Radio Broadcasting and so, I still have over a year to go. I look forward to taking classes you teach and hope you notice a progression in my knowledge of the media industry.

When the semester began I thought to my knowledge that my writing was that of good quality. Though I had a good basic understanding of the format of an essay or letter I still had a lot to learn. My writing changed in many ways such as learning to eliminate unnecessary wording in my thesis, the use of synonyms, analyzing quotes and writing abstract to concrete thoughts or ideas. This Class not only helped enhance my writing abilities but to also better evaluate the writings of others and forced me to acknowledge the rigorous work of future courses in college.…

If you compare the documentary proposal that I wrote at the beginning of marking period 5 to the documentary conclusion in the last marking period, you can tell how my strength in my own writing really improved (even though they were dealing with the same topic). I’m truly content with the work I put into this class and I hope that as this class continues through the years, many other students will feel just the same. I just want to end with thanking this class and more specifically thanking Mrs. Pfeifer for not only teaching us how to fix misplaced modifiers and add commas when necessary, but showing us how to be well rounded individuals while still keeping our unique…

I felt like a stayed true to the goals I had in the pre-reflection, I communicated more with my team and felt at ease when talking about the experiment with them. I not only understood what it was we were conducting but I was very interested in helping my family understand and define fluidized beds. At one point they were texting me their ideas of common everyday uses of fluidized beds. My mother asked if a popcorn maker would be an example of common everyday uses. It was because of this I felt I was getting closer to my goal and the goal of the professor by grasping the why and how of the importance of communicating technical information in a non-technical way. My family actually is looking forward to my next report and certainly enjoy being used as Guinea pigs. I feel fairly certain that the models and equipment and terminology we are using in all of our experiments will be used in even greater detail in my professional future. I feel I was able to describe and model the equipment in my report in a way that would be very easy for high school educated citizens…

As the fall 2013 semester comes to a close, it is time reflect on my experience that I had in completing English 049. Having taken the English placement test many years ago, and scored well enough for English 101 honors, I felt confident that I would once again be placed in at least in English 101. My self-assessment and over confidence was proven to be incorrect this time I took the placement test. At first, I felt disappointed in the fact that I thought that I would have scored better than I had. Now as I reflect on the experience, I am certainly pleased with the experience having taken the 049 class in lieu of 101 at this juncture in my education. The placement test proved that I needed a review of the basics and…
