Two Kinds Theme
Two Kinds Some people go through hurt to find happiness. That is the main theme of the story “Two Kinds by Amy Tan”. The story is about a girl named Nikan who doesn't believe she's good at anything and doesn't believe in herself. Her mother tries to help her out with that but it didn't work throughout the story since she doesn't believe in herself she fails time and time again. Nikan goes through her life believing she can't do anything, and she sabotages herself because of her fixed mindset and and gives up. It isn't until she has matured she realizes how wrong she was in her life and how she should have really tried. In the story Two Kinds Nikan has a fixed mindset believing she can’t do anything which leads to humiliation
