Translation of Surah Mumtahena in English
1. |O you who believe! do not take My enemy and your enemy for friends: would you offer them love while they deny what has come to you of the truth, driving out the Messenger and yourselves because you believe in Allah, your Lord? | |and they ardently desire that you may disbelieve. |
|3. |Your relationship would not profit you, nor your children on the day of resurrection; He will decide between you; and |
| |Allah sees what you do. |
|4. |Indeed, there is for you a good example in Ibrahim and those with him when they said to their people: Surely we are clear |

|5. |Our Lord! do not make us a trial for those who disbelieve, and forgive us, our Lord! surely Thou art the Mighty, the Wise.|
|6. |Certainly there is for you in them a good example, for him who fears Allah and the last day; and whoever turns back, then |
| |surely Allah is the Self-sufficient, the

Murray then addresses 3 major points of disagreement that Muslims have with the Christian faith, shows how one can reveal the truth of them to those we encounter, and use it to point to the Bible and Christ’s work as the revealing word and atonement of God. First is the understanding of scriptures validity. While Muslims have been taught that the New Testament writings have been changed and corrupted over the years, Murray points to verses in the Quran itself that urge Muslims to read…

In reviewing the scripture readings presented for this lesson, each religion has one intrinsic similarity; that is the belief in God. Where both Islam and Judaism view God as one entity, Christians believe in the Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit), ("Islam, Judaism and," 2004-2013). Review of the scripture readings show that both Judaism and Christianity are similar in that they preach an expression of kindness to strangers. Whereas Christianity invites strangers to join and become a Christian, Judaism expresses kindness with separation. Judaism allows observation of their practice but not inclusion. Islam is not similar to either Christianity or Judaism as it suggests “..take not Jews and Christians as friends..” (“The Koran Interpreted”).…

The literal meaning of Islam is peace. Because of many current world events, Islam is a highly controversial and sensitive issue that has many misconceptions that need to be more fully addressed and understood. It is true that the events of 9/11 have separated the history of American relations with the Muslim world into before and after phases, negatively affecting the patterns of assimilation of immigrant Muslims into American culture and society (Simmons, 2008). This essay will begin to give factual details regarding the Islam faith, compare Islam with other Abrahamic religions and discuss common misconceptions and current events that have changed the way the world looks at Muslims and the Islam faith.…
