The Bwindi-Impenetrable Forest, or is also called “Place of Darkness” is the only remaining forest where endangered chimpanzees and mountain gorillas coexist. Bwindi is a place that has tons of poverty and the forest and tourism is the only way for them to make money. Oh and on top of extreme poverty they have to deal with genocide. Even though there has been peace since 1999, you still have to imagine that the people of the forest still have the rebels in the back of their mind. The forest is 327 km2 and is very difficult terrain to navigate through, and it can be cold with the mean temperatures at 7 to 20 degrees Celsius. Personally, I think that it would be cool to visit the Impenetrable Forest, but if it was my money that I was spending I do not think that I would choose to spend my vacation here.…

In another enclosure were the monkeys. They too, were of several varieties. The ape with a black face seemed to be the most mischievous. He was all the time grinning at the onlookers. The visitors threw parched grams to the monkeys and they seemed to relish it. At a small distance we saw a peacock. It was dancing. I ran to that side. The peacock seemed td be unmindful of the presence of the crowd.…

I kept a close distance behind Themba, a safari guide with a mild Afrikaans-English accent, carefully taking small steps to remain unheard. I constantly looked around at the scenery of the dense thickets of brush and trees, anticipating that something unexpected might be looking back. As my senses became more alert, I felt a heightened awareness of my surroundings and noticed that Themba had turned off his radio, leaving us completely disconnected from the outside world. Although Themba was only a few years older than I, he seemed much older because he possessed a great deal of knowledge and wisdom about the African wilderness. Since there were no paths around, we followed various animal tracks until we approached a vast green meadow. I looked out at the rolling hills when at that moment the beauty of nature overwhelmed me with peace and stillness as though time did not exist. We spotted dozens of grazing impala and a family of giraffe's eating leaves from an Acacia tree. We hid behind some bushes to get a better peak of the amazing sight, which from a human eye level made the giraffes appear like giant skyscrapers towering over us.…

When I was there at the first time, I was so impressed the fascinating scenery, I saw lots of monkey, type of trees I had ever saw and I think it is a very suitable destination for everybody to rest their mind and have a peace time. Walking through the main entrance, I could enjoy this amazing place especially early in the morning. Fresh air, colourful flower and butterfly, peaceful, calm and refreshing. My family and me frequented this lovely garden regularly. We had many lovely outings and picnics there. Sometimes, we bathed in the waterfalls to cool off our sweating bodies. What I recalled most was the group of monkeys gathering along the roadside waiting for morsel of food from visitors. They are very cute and active. Many visitors were willing close to them and played with them, feed them, captured some nice photos. So did I. That day I was too excited and try to be more closer with the monkeys. What I felt amazed is that monkey suddenly came to attack me. Luckily I was saved by someone.…
