Three Steps Towards a Healthy Lifestyle
I have found that living a healthy lifestyle has many definitions and it all depends on where and what you read. For example, in “Lifestyle Magazine” the definition of living a healthy lifestyle means having balance in all areas of one’s life. Let’s take a look at three factors of living a healthy lifestyle , eating right, exercising regularly, and keeping your mind calm and content.

First, eating right is not about avoiding fatty foods, cutting down on caffeine and taking out an expensive gym membership. It just means that you should consider how certain foods will affect your body. Plan and stay in control of your eating habits, don’t eat anything heavy after six o’clock in the evening. Eat in moderation do not gorge yourself, and then skip a few meals to make up for it. Keep things in proportion, such as maybe eating a light healthy breakfast and lunch, and then having a slightly heavier food for dinner. Therefore, you will not become hungry in the middle of the night and there is room for a light snack such as fruit. Remember this doesn’t mean that you have to become a health food nut, it is simply a way of having control over you food intake.

Second, exercising regularly is another important part to a healthy lifestyle. You should exercise a minimum of 3 days a week for about 20 minutes. This does not mean that you have to have a strict regiment of exercise in your daily schedule. An easy way to attain a nice amount pf physical activity would be to begin going for walks with a friend or even a pet. It is also good to stretch before you begin any kind of exercise. Stretching enables you to do more than you would without stretching. When you do not stretch before you exercise joints grow less flexible over time. Less flexibility means less range of movement in your daily life, like bending down or twisting to pick up something. Always remember that when you stretch your warming up your muscles, and what ever exercise you choose will be

When thinking of the concept of “eating right” many people think it simply means consuming tasteless foods and useless fruits and vegetables. But eating healthy is much more than that. Eating healthy means more than consuming the recommended fruits and vegetables, but it also means having a balanced diet that is right for the body; for eating healthy is not one size fits all. By eating healthy, people are able to: supply their bodies with the nutrients needed to grow and develop; reduce their chances of developing chronic illnesses and diseases; and maintain a healthy weight.…

It is very important to exercise. Exercise is important because it can keep you in shape and will improve your health for the better. Many studies have shown that regular activities and exercise can improve overall health substantially. Exercise reduces the risk of heart disease, stroke, certain cancers, and high blood pressure. Exercise can also help you to maintain healthy bones, muscles, and joints. Along with physical activity comes weight loss. Weight loss can improve the mental well-being and boost the confidence of any particular person. Also, studies have shown that people who exercise on a regular basis tend to live longer than those who don't. Exercising includes walking, running, jogging, painting, biking, and there are plenty of other activities. My advice would be to pick something you enjoy doing and wouldn't mind doing on a regular basis and sticking to a schedule. You can even pick a few different activities to mix things up and keep it interesting. In weight training most people will work different muscle groups on different days in order to best work their body without over doing it. This also saves time during the day because instead of working out for 3-5 hours in one day you can workout for an hour a day 3-5 days a week. It spreads out the exercise so you don't get sick of it and dread going. Also, your body will respond better because you will not be putting too much stress on yourself. It is also wise to stretch before any physical activity. This is very important so that you do not pull or strain any muscles. Most importantly, to maintain a healthy body you must stay active. I currently workout four days a week. On Monday I train my chest and triceps. Tuesday I train my back and biceps. Wednesday I don’t train but will be incorporating some cardio on that day. Thursday I train my shoulders and trapezius muscles, and Friday I train my legs and abdominal muscles. I’ve been doing my own training program with exercises that I feel are helpful in…
