Three Rehearsal Techniques In A Film
When rehearsing a group, a director should use the macro-micro-macro approach, running through sections, diagnosing specific problems and fixing them, and then zooming out again to evaluate the performance again. Three rehearsal techniques that a director should employ in rehearsals are: isolation, disassemble/reassemble, and disguised practice. Isolation involves isolating a tricky part in music, slowing it down, gradually speeding up, and then playing it back into context gradually. This technique works well for sections or groups who are struggling with a difficult part of the music, and need more attention and troubleshooting from the director. I believe this technique should only be used if students still struggle with a difficult passage and the other two methods do not work, as isolation takes a lot of time out of the rehearsal and usually means that other sections have to wait. If isolation is necessary, a direction can keep everyone involved by having them finger or sing along, provide the beat or division of beat, or conduct. …show more content…
Having a “list of lines,” and knowing which section or sections play specific parts can help you with this particular rehearsal technique. This method can help the students within the ensemble have a better understanding of their role within the entire ensemble, as well as what the other sections play. It can also help the director hear mistakes that were hidden when the entire ensemble plays, and then use isolation to fix the

The movie Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind had a great detail of editing by the film editor. As a viewer the editing was important, and how they captured the scenes as the movie’s story was at a fast pace throughout the movie. The film’s editor also provided great cuts to let us, as the viewers follow the whole situation of the history of all the characters in the movie, from the past to present. When I see such complicated movies like that I always think how complicated, and how the film editor probably had such a head ache with so many shots taken from the director and having to cut and splice the whole story together.…

The film the Minority Report with Tom Cruise falls into the American category of science fiction. Science fictional films often include scientific advances or major social changes. Being based in the year 2054, we see many imagined advances in the fields of science and technology. The whole idea of pre-crime is futuristic and incredibly advanced. Some of the properties that allow this movie to fall under the category of science fiction are the futuristic cars, the jetpacks, the ‘halos’, the screen on which Anderton watches the Precogs’ visions, and etc. The setting in which the movie takes places doesn’t show much change from now except for the advances in everyday places like where the car is parked outside of John’s home, the highway system, and the holographic screen in the G.A.P. Much of the costumes worn by the characters don’t seem to be too far from today’s wardrobe. The biggest change we see is the jumpsuits worn by the precogs in the Temple.…

The painting “The Organ Rehearsal” by Henry Lerolle portraits a group of people that could be the author’s family, loved ones or a scene that the author could have seen while alive.Furthermore, The people in the painting seem to be on an upper balcony of an opera salon or a church while an organ player is performing. The painting is very poetic. It shows a young woman who stands out among these people, apparently singing and feeling the melodies of the song that is being performed, behind her a group of listeners is gathered. Also, The simplicity of recreating that exact moment featuring the woman’s voice as if it were suspended in the air while she was singing makes such composition unique and unconventional. The author had an amazing way…

Tim Burton is an amazing director he uses so many different cinematic techniques to create mood and tone in some of his past movies like “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”, “Edward Scissorhands”, and “Big Fish”. In each of those movies he uses cinematic techniques to create a different mood and tone. The three that stood out to me on all movies by Tim Burton were sound, lighting, and editing.…

In a very far away land, lived a man, a man with a very different life compared to you or me. He doesn’t know right from wrong. He sits by himself all alone, wondering what his purpose in life is. He’s always wondered what’s going on in the town below him. One day something very scary happened, a visitor came. He doesn’t know what to once he was exposed to the town. This is very usual in Tim Burton’s films. I watched the movie Training Day. This movie shows many examples of unmoral and unethical police work. Denzel Washington is a narcotics detective for the LAPD named Alonzo Harris. His methods of enforcing the law are very questionable during the film, if not corrupt. Harris’ job is to train rookie Jake Hoyt over a 24-hour period. Many Ethical dilemmas arise for Hoyt and this presents questions for him whether or not to follow along with Harris, and if his methodology for ridding the streets in South Central Los Angeles is right or wrong. As watching the movie we realize that there are a few theories that came up. Deontological and Teleological ethical systems as well as criminal/ moral culpability and hypothetical and categorical imperatives all were shown in this film.…

As a member of the marching band I have three years of experience. I run the sectionals at each practice conducting and helping with fingerings, rhythms, and overall sound. My section is not afraid to ask me questions and i usually ask them if there is anything they need to go over. Not only do I run sectionals for marching band but I have also taken the initiative to have sectionals for concert band as well. Although it is not a requirement for my grade and also was not asked of me, I would have sectionals with the students from concert band. We would work on scales and the…

    The Rehearsal

In a nutshell, The Rehearsal is a very interesting piece of art by Peter Milton. It attracts me during my first visit to the Currier Museum of Art due to the place the art was placed in and the amount of lights that was shown on it that goes along with the message the artist was trying to convey. Instead of putting it right in front of a door and somewhere easy to be spotted, The Rehearsal was situated at a rather secluded place in where it is put right beside the next entrance. I walked up to it and read the short description next to the art and realize how everything goes along with it. The light was shone in a way where it did no intend to lift up the mood of the piece. The low light and zigzag light is to deepen the mood just as how people…
