A thousand words and million thoughts

There is a saying that "a picture is worth a thousand words and a million thoughts". When my mother sent me a picture of my little brother DJ playing football in his first year, I had a million positive thoughts running through my head. Many thoughts not just thoughts of him playing football but about everything. That photo represents a lot more to me and my family than what meets the eye.

This is a great photo of DJ with a smile on his face, which shows he is enjoying his self. But it also is a good representation of DJ and the type of kid he is. It shows that he is a good kid that is doing something positive and productive with his time. Furthermore this photo should bring great memorial value to DJ if he decides to pursue football, as he could look back on this picture as his introduction to the sport.

In addition to what this photo represents, it also means and shows a lot about our family. It shows that even though we are not your perfect role model family, we are still striving to do and achieve better as a family. Because it may sound a little far pitched but the youth in our family like me and DJ are the ones’ who have the potential to break our family's cycle of crime and poverty. So it really means a lot to everyone that DJ is doing this.

Last but not least this picture means a whole lot to me. Number one because he look just like me when I was playing at his age, but also it also shows how he is following in my footsteps. I was the first person on my mother’s side of the family to play organized football and it feels good to see my little brother doing the same. So when I saw this picture it motivated me to do better in football, life, and every aspect of my life because I know my little brother is watching and following in my footsteps.

Looking at this picture truly changed my aspect on pictures. It

We foster and celebrate practices that nurture living and learning in an atmosphere of caring, respect and mutual accountability.1 The cover of the book itself is the epitome of what a community should be. On the cover, there is a picture of a young black boy in the middle of the street, who no one seems to be paying any attention. Although the picture is fixated on him, behind him seems to be a rally of some kind with thousands of people. As they march through the streets holding signs, it is a truly poignant photo. It is a sincerely inspirational sight, which Dr. Hill also describes in his book. After eighteen year-old, Michael Brown, was shot and killed by police, “...crowds of protesters appeared in Oakland, Los Angeles, Dallas, Denver, Washington, Minneapolis, Chicago, Atlanta, and New York [stood] in solidarity” (Hill 12). People were outraged about Michael Brown’s death, and most of them never even met him. It is beautiful to think that all of these people care enough to get together and try to make a change. There is a strength in numbers and those numerous protesters prove…

The design is to give off a more serious tone and to grab a reader’s attention. This is a piece I don’t think I will ever forget because the way it is set up is genius. It has the crying boy in the middle to attract the audience then the hand of words choking the crying boy to keep the audience’s attention. It truly makes a person sit down and think about how words affect everyone and just like the caption says “Your words have power use them wisely” that quote just sums up the whole photo.…

It was very unique and it really gave me a big idea of what the imaged talked about . He quoted” Photography to the amateur is recreation, to the professional it is work, and hard work too, no matter how pleasurable it may be”. He also quoted that Photography is the simplest thing in the world, but it is incredibly complicated to make it really work.” Edward Weston was one the most successful photographers and i was really moved by his images and he was really a great photographer and her really enjoyed it and it helped him to become famous and he really impressed a lot of people to be a good photographer. Weston was really into his work and he traveled to many places and experienced and met a lot of people and most of his works have been all over the world. I have learned a lot about Edward weston and will looked happy in what he did.Another quote he said was Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever... it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.”That quote really made me feel in a certain way i hope other people will be inspired by his work and i hope they find his work really good and inspire them to do well and be successful in the field of…

I had scored a multitude of times that game, and felt extremely accomplished. The whole team received championship trophies and celebrated. That is the old trophy that still sits on my desk. Looking back, I wouldn’t necessarily say that winning a second grade flag football championship was my biggest accomplishment, but that one trophy led to six more years of football, my interest in lacrosse, and everything in between. And every time I look at that trophy, not only do I remember that day in second grade, but I gain a sense of perseverance and determination for the things to come in my…

I thank my dad for bringing out the skill and mindset of an athlete. I not only use my competitive nature on the field but I also utilize it in the classroom. There are over seven billion people on this Earth, so what is it that makes me so different? I wear Nike, I drive a car, I play video games, I have chores, and could be considered a pretty normal person. I love, I laugh, I get angry, and I have emotions just like every other human being. The one thing I heavily identify with is football. For as long as I can remember I’ve played ball, and made some great friends along the way. The picture in the top left is a great representation of this. Football has taught me lessons of leadership, perseverance, toughness, how to deal with the highest of highs, and the lowest of lows. (Bottom left: aftermath of beating Staley) Above all else, the best thing it has taught me was loyalty. Not only loyalty to a cause, but loyalty to my brothers, and ultimately my family. Football has created a foundation for my character, and without it I am certain I would not be the same person I am today.…
