DEATH VALLEY by: Joey Akers
In the middle of the story, Donna , Gina , and Jenny find an abandoned campsite. Write an alternate ending to what the girls do next to survive. Use sensory details to create the tone. The campsite is filled with stuff to use but doesn't really give needs but more like wants like a mattress a pillow a shower and some water bottles which served really useful as they went to the shower and found out the electric was ran by a generator so they looked around and in their luck they found a gasoline tank. They used it and turned on the generator but it wasn't much gasoline so they had to be quick and they took all of the beer cans , water bottles and mugs and filled it all up with water and only one was able to take a

They did get a good sleep they had water but one thing was wrong they didn't have food. Waking up and all of their bellies rumbling a song out they ran in both trailers and all they could find a banana but they said ,” it food and it’s healthy for you,” chewing that banana was the hardest thing to do for them as it was expired swallowing it was like trying to swallow a mouse. They had set up camp there they had everything they needed but they would try to get rescued the food was running low and the water when they had 3 bits of food and enough water to last 2 days they said everyone spread out and look for something as they had one day so after that day was up they had to be back at the campsite or it would get bad for that person out there. Everyone made it back and only one found a place out i found a road. As they run knowing when sun hits the water they have left would last them minutes they arrive at the road yelling screaming but no one appears so they have no choice to run left or right but then Gina remembers ,” We came left when we came here and got stranded so let's go right may not be the best idea but it’s the only idea.,” They all stick with an agreement and run with all their might …show more content…
Gina i think that was a little uncalled for,” Jenny said ,” ya i know but i am losing it out here i just wanna go home,” we all do even lizard lee does so maybe go up and apologize i mean he is like us he could have been stuck out here longer or shorter and we could use a extra hand to get out of here.,” Gina goes and apologizes ,” Well I gotta give it to I was kinda straight forward but i can help,” so we went down the road and kept going with lizard lee we got a little more food and water to last 2 days so we ran like there was no tomorrow. We found a car ,” STOP STOP,” all of us scream the truck coming to a stop we all got in ,”where you headed,” politely said the truck driver,” thank goodness any where we’ve been stranded out here for days or weeks.,” The truck pulls off the engine roaring. we get to a town the police take us in the emergency room ,” are dehydrated are you alright give them some water ,” helping us back into life ,”wow what a week or days or you know ,” as we leave lizard lee thanks us ,” thank you i would have never

The theme that I have chosen is death. I chose this theme because death plays a part in Andy's life and it plays a part in Henry's life. It affects us all in our lives because people die all the time and people go through hard a time when people die and that's what happens in the book. I will be explaining how death is used in the book from the First World War and during the present day.…

They all ate breakfast in the dining hall after that. The camp had a beautiful view of a tall Rock Face on the side of a mountain. Later that day, the camp staff brought all the campers to the town of Moorefield, where everyone boarded these things called motorcars, also referred to as speeders. These vehicles were once used by Railroad Maintenance employee's to ride out to remote work sites. The motorcars took everyone from Moorefield to the town of Romney, WV. Andrew, Anthony, Ramon and I all rode together, the particular motorcar they rode could only hold 5 occupants, including the operator. Noah had to ride a different motor car because of this. I can both agree and dissagree with Edward Koch 's opinions in his essay called Death and Justice: How Capital Punishment Affirms Life. Some of the arguments that he has presented seemed valid, however, he didn 't supply enough facts to back up what he was saying for many of his examples. It seemed to me that most of what Edward Koch was saying had more to do with his own opinion on capital punishment than on any type of reasearch he has done on the topic.…

While reading the book A Death In Texas by Dina Temple-Raston, I found many differences in our current society compared to Jasper just a decade ago. While reading this book I noticed right away how certain parts of Texas are segregated, including Jasper. I understand that the location does make a difference. Here in Washington there wasn’t a lot of diversity a century ago and we were a lot like the 1998 Jasper. Our “Other” or “Them” were the Chinese. Whereas, just a decade ago, in Jasper, the police department was lenient towards hate crimes and didn’t care if they occurred until Sheriff Rowles was elected. He was colorblind and believed in justice for all. When the murder of James Byrd occurred in 1998 it changed everything in Jasper and drew the attention of the entire United States.…

The novel As I Lay Dying by William Faulkner is filled with moments of great heroism and with struggles that are almost epic, but the novel’s take on such battles is ironic at best, and at times it even makes them seem downright absurd or mundane. The Bundren family is on a mission to bury Addie. In the midst they defeat water and fire on the way to Jefferson where Addie is to be buried. Their take on these engagements seem heroic, but they come to the point where the family’s’/ family member(s) actions are more foolish than anything.…

When you drive through the gates, just keep following the signs.” The woman said. Once we pulled through those gates, I knew that I was home. A girl from my cabin came over to talk to me, “Hi, I’m CC. What’s your name?” I was so excited to be at camp that I stumbled across pronouncing my own name, “My name is S-S-Sayer. Where are you from?” “I live in Charlotte!” CC says, smiling a mega-watt smile. CC and I take the IT bus, a small bus with PVC pipes over the top that spray water on riders on hot days, over to the Near Side, the side with all of the Sea activities, where we would spend most of the activity period at Creative Arts making perler bead bracelets and barrettes. Once those five days were over, I didn’t want to leave, my sister and I were the last ones of our friends to get picked up and we didn’t mind because we never wanted to leave. When we got in the car, we asked our dad if we could go back for the two-week session that would start the following Sunday. Over the school year, CC and I talked on the phone every night. I had her home phone number memorized after about a week. There were some days when we would talk multiple times a day. That’s how I am with camp friends, they’re my best friends, I talk to them all the time but sometimes it gets to the point that I pull away from my friends at…
