This is what Bill Bonner and Michael Masterson (whom I consider my mentors and two of the world’s best copywriters) have always suggested: If you want to be a writer, you must do two things above all others: 1. Read a lot 2. Write a lot There’s no way around these two things, no shortcuts. If you don’t have time to read, you don’t have the time (or the tools) to write. As simple as that. Reading creates an ease and intimacy with the process of writing. Constant reading will pull you into a place where you can write eagerly and without self-consciousness.

Secret 2: Have Something To Say
This makes writing easier and faster. When you have nothing to say, you are forced to write sentences that sound meaningful but deliver nothing. Read widely. Take notes. Choose your subjects wisely. Remember – You have about five seconds to get your reader’s attention. If you don’t grab his interest by then, you’ll never get it. Don’t use a headline to make a sale. Instead, use a headline as a stepping stone for the reader to read the first sentence of your content or copy.
