Sexism in Advertising has existed in advertising since the 1920s. Females have always been shown in the kitchen wearing an apron or cleaning. The male characters are typically going to work wearing a suit and in control of the household. The problem with this is that it creates a male dominance in society. Women are seen as fragile and sensitive, men are shown as masculine and secure. This creates the idea that women are not meant to be in control or have any power, and that they must have a husband in order to fit into society.
