The Role Of Abigail In The Crucible
In most stories there is a villain and in this story Abigail is the true villain in Arthur Miller’s drama, The Crucible. She started out as a innocent maid, and Elizabeth(her boss) was sick she had a affair with Elizabeth's husband Proctor. Afterwards he felt guilty so he kept pushing Abigail away which made her mad. She ended up taking control over these little girls and she would threaten them if they didn't listen. Elizabeth ended up making a little doll and when she was taking a break she stuck the needle in the stomach and Abigail wanted to get rid of Elizabeth to have Proctor to herself so she acted as the doll was her and stabbed herself. Finally towards the end of the story everyone is in court and Elizabeth takes over the court by threatening Danforth of accusing him of doing witchcraft.

When he was talking to Betty about it to the girls and she asked Abigail what she did she “furiously shook” and Betty ended up yelling at her and that's when Abigail broke loose and made the girls do what she wanted them to do. If they didn't do what they were told Abigail would threaten them so badly so badly that it could have ended in death and Abigail was intimidating to the girls so they would listen to her.
