The Outsiders Movie
What I enjoyed about The Outsiders is that the movie was very interesting throughout the entire thing which I like because there are no dull and boring parts. Me as a watcher of the movie The Outsiders I think they made a great movie because I can relate kinda because when my great Grandpa as a teenager was living in italy he was kinda in the same situation as all the teens where in the movie.
I picked the movie over the book. I think the movie has way more interesting scenes and overall I like movies way more thans books in my opinion. Movies are always good from the beginning to end in books you have to read chapters to get to the good part which i don't like.     The book The Outsiders was written by S. E. Hinton, and published in 1967. The Outsiders movie was then released in 1983 and was directed by Francis Ford Coppola. The story is about a group of 7 greasers set in the 1960’s. Basically the greasers are in constant rival with the socs, the upper class kids from the west side. Ponyboy Curtis and Johnny Cade are the youngest in the group. They go threw some very difficult times after Johnny kills a soc, then dies. Ponyboy must learn how to cope with all that has happened.Together they makes up one of the gangs of greasers that live on the East side of town.     However, The Outsiders movie was very interesting, the novel portrayed the story line better in my opinion. For one the novel is more detailed such as when Johnny got jumped by Bob and three of his Soc friends, but the movie does not. Also, the novel describes in chapter 4 page 53 that there is a swimming pool at the park but they movie shows nothing about there being a pool there. In addition, the novel also states when Dallas Winston takes Ponyboy and Johnny to Dairy Queen they sit in the Restaurant, but in the movie, they do not.     Some actors acted and appeared entirely different in the movie than the book. The directing and special effects were okay in some scenes, but half-baked and lousy in others. Furthermore, the characters are developed far less in the film and many semi-important scenes in the novel are excluded in the film. Do not watch this movie unless you have read the novel (or even if you have read it). If you haven’t read the book and decide to watch the movie instead, you will fail to understand the complicated relationships between each character and between the Socs and Greasers and just think the movie is substandard and all aspects of the movie lacked in action, emotion, or just seemed like they were not well thought out.     The Outsiders did not fit the criteria of being one of the films of Francis Ford Coppola. Critics were largely unimpressed by the movie but did well enough at the box office. The Outsiders was based off the novel, published in 1967, by S.E. Hinton. It is about a character, Ponyboy, who lives with his two brothers, Darry and Sodapop.
