The Musim Green Lantern
THE MUSLIM GREEN LANTERN

I this story by Doug Mahnke, Is a story That I really liked. The main character is Simon Baz, in the beginning Simon grew up in a muslim home and people beat him up because of that and were mean to him and his sister. That led to the problem in the story because that resulted into a life of crime for him in robbing cars. One time there was a bomb in a car that he stole and he was blamed for that act of terrorism. He was put in jail so he wouldn't do it again. At there solution of the story he broke out of the pentagon with the help of the Green Lantern Ring. At the end he becomes Green Lantern.

My opinion on the Muslim Green Lantern is that he might be not so good because one he had a life of crime by robbing

I also think that the story might have more than one purpose to the book because that would make it a lot more interesting for the readers. Also they might ad that simmons sister joins him in a crime fighting task force to make the story move to make some more books in the series or make a whole new series with the task force.

A connection to this story is the batman comic book. Because they both have a similarity, they both had something bad happen to them. So they wanted to get back at the people so when they had the chance to become a superhero they took the chance so they could do something about there family or friends.

My final thoughts on this great comic book is that the author tries to tell us that no just white people can be superheroes. Also that there needs to be more diversity in the world. The theme of the book is I would say action mostly because it’s not the same as the original green lantern so you can’t tell what's coming or not. My opinion on the book is I love the idea of putting a new face on the Green Lantern but at first I didn’t get the idea because I didn’t know really who was who because it jumped from then and now and at first I didn’t know who the main character when it switched to now. After all though I really enjoyed reading this

The novel sheds light on the The Righteous and Harmonious Fists and how the stood up to Western powers that wanted to change the political, economic, and religious aspects of China. One can also understand the way the Chinese felt about Western imperialism and Christianity. Through the eyes of Little Bao, the reader can make connections and gain knowledge about the Boxer Rebellion. Although there are some pitfalls within the graphic novel I did take away a fair amount of credible historical knowledge and my understanding for the Boxer…

I thought the writer had a really good flow of style and expressed herself really well, especially with the storyline. It was a great story overall, the writer was very graphic with her words and it kind of made me feel like I was there re-living that moment with her. Her style was cool and she built up the story with conflict. The suspense was awesome because she made it feel like it was going to be good from the start to the end, but then I felt the tension when things became dark and muggy. The argumentation was written well and the story ended on a good note. The writer wrote for her people and you could literally…

building to save the children from the fire. The reasons why they became heroes is because they chose to save the kids no matter the cost, even if it put their lives in danger. The selflessness that all of the Greasers display when they ran into that building show that they value the well being of others over themselves. This is a key quality of all heroes, making the Greasers more than just a small time criminal gang.…

In the eyes of many, a hero is the embodiment of good; honest, giving, and humble. For two criminal teenagers to be considered heroic is strange, but for Dally Winston and Johnny Cade, sacrificing everything for their closest friends and community is a daily ordeal. Throughout H.E. Hinton’s fiction novel, The Outsiders, Dally and Johnny are constantly portrayed as dangerous and tough kids involved in illegal activity spouting from their street gang. Although this is true to an extent, they are simply trying to protect their family of other traumatized kids. Their capability to look past the social class system of Socs and Greasers allows them and the people around them to have a better quality of life, making them heroes.…

The book is thought-provoking in its use of imagery and foreshadowing; George kills Lennie akin to how Carlson killed Candy’s dog, shooting the back of the neck/head so they don’t feel anything as explained by Carlson. Also, the emphasis on Lennie’s hands and his unbeknownst strength. The characters are interesting and generally believable, the ending is unexpected but not unwarranted. The book has influenced many other shows to parody iconic scenes such as Family Guy and SNL. Also, the book is superior in comparison to the other books I read this year, To Kill a Mockingbird, Speak, and Starship Troopers. In addition to my favorite book, there has been one person who has been the most influential to me this…

In my opinion, the book is a fascinating fantasy-storie, which shows the young reader that the good always overcomes the evil. And it’s also written in a very funny way, only as Roald Dahl does. The only criticism I could have on this book, is that it’s written for young children, about 7/8 years old, so it’s not adequate for adults.…

Some of the key points in the novel are Ellie and her friends going camping, Lee gets shot, Ellie, Homer, Lee and Fi blow up a tanker under a bridge to stop the enemy from sending more of their troops into the area, and Corrie and Kevin go to the hospital because Corrie gets shot. I think the authors intensions were to make everyone think about what they would do in a similar situation.…

A delightful novel which bought back memories from when I first read it whilst a learner at school. As an adult I can appreciate Harper Lee’s use of symbolism, pathos, humour, and satire. I especially enjoy the manner in which Harper Lee effectively used symbols to demonstrate rejection of prejudice and racism.…
