The Mobile Pantry Program

The mission of the Mobile Pantry Program is to meet the needs of hungry clients in urban and rural areas that are underserved by providing food directly in their communities. These areas are often called food deserts because there is a lack of traditional brick and mortar supermarkets and/or pantries. Recipients are often isolated and lack the transportation necessary to access healthy and affordable food options. The Mobile Pantry becomes the on-site pantry/farmer’s market.

The focus of the Mobile Pantry Program is to use the refrigeration capacity to provide perishable foods such as produce, meat and dairy to those directly in need. This program provides mobility and flexibility. The farmer’s market set up gives people the ability to walk
