Why Is It Important To Follow Directions I am writing this essay because I did not bring my ACH to the motor pool when I have been told by my sergeant many times to do so. You should always bring your ACH to the motor pool whenever you go because you will never know when you will need it. Your sergeant could ask you to test drive any of your vehicles that your squad owns. If you can’t test drive any vehicles because you did not bring your ACH to the motor pool, then that make you and your sergeant look bad in front of others because you did not follow directions that your sergeant has given you.     There are many reasons why a soldier, (doesn't matter the rank) should obey orders from anyone above him or her in the chain of command. Sometimes its good to listen to people soldiers below you too because they maybe smarter at the task then you are. One reason is that the military is revolved around higher ranking soldiers leading the lower ranking soldiers, they’re more experienced in the military then I am and been deployed more than i have. Well, when a person enlists in the United States Military, active duty or reserve, they take the following oath, “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice.” Right there you are making a promise to the United States Military.
