The Effects Of Parkinson's Disease
I will be discussing a disease of the nervous system known as Parkinson’s disease and the benefits of camel milk in a chlorpromazine-induced animal model. Parkinson’s disease is one of the most common diseases of the nervous system, right behind
Alzheimer's disease. People with Parkinson’s disease have an uncontrollable tremor and have a difficult time maintaining posture. One of the causes for this disease is the damage to the neurons in either the substantia nigra or other brainstem nuclei. These are some of the few neurons that produce the neurotransmitter, dopamine, and when they are destroyed, this disease will likely occur. There are currently a few available treatments, for example, levodopa and carbidopa. Treatments such as these help

In this study they performed, they used a chlorpromazine-induced animal model because of the “toxicity” of the chlorpromazine.
Chlorpromazine induces catalepsy, and by using this drug, they hoped to see the positive effects of the antioxidant characteristics of the camel milk.
Next I will discuss the materials and methods listed in this article. In order to perform this experiment, the researchers took forty adult albino rats of both genders and kept their environment, food and water intake, location, etc., constant. Camel milk, chlorpromazine, levodopa, and carbidopa were then gathered. Proceeding with the experiment, the forty rats were divided into groups of ten. Group one was administered water, group two was administered chlorpromazine, group three was administered chlorpromazine and thirty minutes later were given camel milk, and the last group was administered chlorpromazine and thirty minutes later given a combination of levodopa and carbidopa (the standard therapy). This same drug treatment was repeated for thirty days

With past research, we know that administering patients with a combination of vitamin C and vitamin E, both of which are found in camel milk, helps delay the progression of this disease and moreover delay the need for further treatment.
Lastly, these researchers believe that, because of their discoveries, camel milk will be advantageous when it comes to long-term management of Parkinson’s disease
Like stated above, Parkinson’s disease is such a common disease, especially among the elderly, and it is vital to find the best treatment possible to help all the unfortunate people who have to face it. This article accurately helps one to understand what exactly patients with this disease go through, the current treatments, and the further research that is going in to finding more treatments. Before reading this article I honestly did not know much about Parkinson’s disease, due to my family and close friends being fortunate enough to not have it, but I can honestly say that I now have a clear understanding of this common disease of the nervous
