The Design Of The Cold Slug Wells Analysis
4.11 The Design of the Cold Slug Wells
The cold material well is located on the movable template opposite to the main flow path or at the end of the runner to trap the cooler advancing front of the melt while allowing hot material to flow into the cavities. The cold well should be slightly larger diameter than the main channel. To pull the sprue out of the sprue bush it has a snatch or pull pin or sucker pin underneath. Ejector pin system can be designed in three different methods: however the undercut pin for stripper plate ejection has a different system. All the diameters related to those designed are according to sprue diameter where it meets the runner. The pins should be designed to avoid its protruding into the runner area.

Consequently, it has the longest cooling time. However, this design does capture the colder advancing front of the material very well.
The Z snatch sometimes break away from the Z shape, although this design may be such as PS and SAN as the undercut ring and tapered on Ejection. ‘Hang up’ when it ‘refuses’ to preferred for brittle materials hole versions may break off.

4.12 The Structural Design and the Calculation of the Molded Parts
4.12.1 The Concave Die Structure
A metal block that is used for forming materials like sheet metal and plastic is called a die. The two major component of forming material are the core (A convex, which the male part, tool for making holes by shearing, or making surface or displacing metal with a hammer.) and the die (A concave die, which is the female part as opposed to core which is the male part.).
The performances of the core can be categorized as the stretching, bending, and/or blanking operation, while the die block ensures to clamp the work piece and provides similar stretching, bending, and/or blanking operation. The work piece may pass through several stages using different tools or operations to obtain the final

1: Cutting Dies:
The die which uses for material cutting is called cutting die (blanking dies, perforating dies, notching dies, trimming, shaving, nibbling dies). It takes advantage of the cutting or shearing action.
2: Forming Dies:
The function of the forming die is to change the appearance of the blank without removing any stock. Few example of forming dies are bending, drawing and squeezing dies etc. Traditionally, tool or die makers are used to create s forming die and mount into press. (B) Method of operation:
1. Blanking – Its function is to cut the material into a desired shape in single operation while resulting a flat piece of material called blank.
2. Broaching – Its function is to remove material from parts that are too thick for shaving by using the multi cutting teeth with each tooth cutting behind the other.
3. Coining – Its function is to squeeze the blank with the core within a confined area to form different features on either face of the blank.
4. Compound operations – It has the ability to perform multiple operations on a part during the press
