6. Brief summary:

A hunter was out hunting one day on the forest and killed a deer. Since it was very late in the day, he couldn’t take the de er home. He skinned it. He hang it as high as hecould on the branch of a tall pine tree. The following day he returned for his deer, but thedeer was gone. He searched the area for tracks. When he found clues, he went to the justice of peace for help. The justice of peace asked him if he had any idea as to who stole the deer.
The hunter replied that he had seen the thief and he didn’t know who it was, but he could give an accurate description of the man who stole the deer.The justice of the peace said if he knows something, tell him what kind of man heis. The hunter replied that he is shorter than him, he is older, and he had a yellow bulldog with him. The justice of the peace asked how the hunter knew all that. The hunter repliedthat he knew he is shorter than the hunter because he had to put some logs beneath thetree to reach the deer. The justice of the peace asked how he knew he is old. Then thehunter replied because he took short steps, like an old man. The judge was convinced and granted permission to look for a man fitting that description. After searching for some time, the hunter and the justice of the peace arrivedat a house. They saw a yellow bulldog. They knocked on the door and a small, old manappeared. Then they searched his barn and found the stolen deer. So the hunter, by using his wits, had tracked down the thief who had stolen his deer.

Magayon was the most beautiful maiden in the kingdom of Albay. She fell in love with Gat Malayo, a prince from Tagalog Kingdom in Tayabas. The two decided to marry, but Datu Buhawen, the Magayon consented to the marriage. On the day of the wedding, Gat Malayon arrived and fierce battle began. Datu Buhawen stabbed him to death. When Magayon saw her lover dying, she took the dagger and killed herself. The two were buried in a common grave. After a few days, the earth on their grave rose and turns into a beautiful mountain-volcano. It was named after the beautiful maiden Magayon.

Characters: a. Mang Estong- the father. b.Mother c. Melkor- the son of Mang Estong. d. Victa- daugther of Mang Estong. e. The driver- a man with pockmarks on his face who humiliated MangEstong.

Conflict: When Mang Estong was humiliated by the driver of the owner of the house they occupied. The man was talking to him in bullying, high-flownterms.

Summary :

This is the story of Mang Estong and his family who washumiliated by the driver of the owner of the land that their house occupied. That is the reason why Mang Estong utter bad words against that manbecause he could not believe at first it could happened: that one man could drive anothner from a shelter. At noon time when Mang Estong was fairlyexhausted, after eating lunch he spread tarpaulin and slept on the ground.Melkor tasked by his mother to continue to work for the roof. While working,he felt the burning of his scalp and skin but, he could stand it. Several timeshe hit his finger by hammer then, he knows what his father felt.
