The Consequences Of Raising Minimum Wage
Should minimum wage be raised? I think that we should raise minimum wage There are many reasons

The first reason is that it would ruin the economy. If we raise minimum wage the economy will drop down like in 2008. Most people that work minimum wage jobs anyways are in the ages between 15-20 years old. Which means that most of the people that are working minimum wage jobs still live with their parents and most of them are going to highschool and college. The workers also decided to work there and they should have gotten a different job if they didn’t want to get paid minimum wage.

The workers wages are sometimes raised. Workers get raises on how well they perform. Life skills education level and just how they do their job. It is more likely

Many business owners have argued that raising the minimum wage would cause hardship and cause businesses to raise their prices, but many workers argue that raising the minimum wage is necessary to help low-income workers to get out of poverty. Two main issues that workers face are insufficient wages to support their families which causes them to depend on government funding. Secondly, workers are faced with decreased job satisfaction due to making low wages. In my opinion, minimum wages should be increased because it will allow workers to feel that they have job security. Additionally, increased pay will allow people to further support themselves and avoid taking benefits from the government and can use…

My research leads me to stand behind the idea of raising the federal minimum wage, within reason. Doing so would raise the standard of living, it could create more tax money for the government, and workers would, without a doubt, gain more motivation to work harder and more diligently on the job. In my opinion, it would not be right to significantly raise federal minimum pay.…

Minimum wage is not just about somebodies income. Raising it will have much greater affect on the economy. The cost of goods and housing will go up. The reason the price of those things will go up is because we still have to help cover the cost of workers. By increasing the minimum wage it will decrease ones desire to further their education.…

Some people believe that raising minimum wage will help with economic growth, while others believe that minimum wage would do the opposite and actually force the manager to lay off many employees and raise unemployment levels. After researching both sides of this argument I believe that minimum wage should not be raised because after the price is higher, the company will not have enough money to pay all their employees and would have to make sacrifices such as laying off employees and maybe replacing them with machines so they don't have to pay them. If the minimum wage is raised many bad things could happen because of it.…

The government should not raise the minimum wage.Nothing good can come from raising the minimum wage. And if any good comes from it will be cancelled out by all the bad. As unfortunate as it sounds, raising the minimum wage will cause a drop in the job market. If a major retailer had to raise their wages for their workers they would have to get the money from somewhere. That means a raise in the price of goods and the laying off of positions that could be replaced by automated systems. The repercussion of this is an increase in Demand and a lowering of Supply. This means along with the minimum wage increasing, so would the expenses associated with living. There would be an increase in the price of goods and services. A job Shortage would…

As living expenses rise, and inflation takes its toll, it is merely common sense to raise minimum wage to help blue collar Americans cope with the everyday change in our currency. Raising the minimum would help cover the basic necessities of an average worker’s life, stimulate the economy, and help balance the growing gap between the middle and upper classes.…

Hello Julia, I agree with you. minimum wage should not be raised because there will be high price production, and inflation, which will hurt consumer especially the low-income family. Raising the minimum wage commonly may be seen as a way to give a low-income worker a raise, but it resulted in a surplus since the minimum wage is a price floor. Surplus happens when the quantity of supply is greater than the quantity of demand. In this case, more people are willing to work than employers are willing to hire at the stage of minimum wage price rising and it will result in high unemployment. There would be a high unemployment rate because employers are forced to pay more which likely lead them to hire fewer workers in the workplace, especially for the small business or companies. Fewer people getting hiring mean less work is being done.…

This paper will talk about the subject of minimum wage in America. Right now it is a struggle for those who work and receive the 7-10 dollar an hour pay. With that type of income a family of three (two parents working (minimum wage) and one child) will only make $30, 160 in a year. Now we all know that you cannot do much with $30,160, but that does not mean that they deserve more than that. People deserve what they put in. That is why people who work hard tend to earn more money than people who do not. Here are three reasons for why the US should not raise the minimum wage. The minimum wage is for people who do not try hard enough in school, it will also raise the prices that we pay for, and it will also just make inflation increase at a much faster rate.…

The minimum wage should not be raised for many reasons. The minimum wage in Florida as of 2015-2016 is $8.05/hr. Minimum wage is a minimum amount of money a worker shall get per hour. Many people want the minimum wage to raise but it shouldn’t because “more than half of the minimum wage workers are under the age of 25, and many are students trying to pay their way through school”(Brian Brenberg The Kings College.) Raising the minimum wage can also put small companies in debt. Also if the minimum wage is increased, more skilled and educated workers will want a pay raise as people who are unskilled and uneducated are awarded a higher pay raise because of the gov’t. Also raising the minimum wage would not impact poverty levels.…

There has been a lot of discussion regarding the increase of minimum wage across the nation. Currently, the wage is set at a low amount of $7.25 an hour. In today’s society it is almost impossible to live on only an income of $7.25 an hour especially for those who are raising a family. In President Obama’s 2013 State of the Union Address, the president proposed to raise the minimum wage to 9 dollars by the year 2015 (Luhby). A higher minimum wage would help people living in poverty by providing better means of financial stability, and it would also improve the chances of those people trying to escape poverty stricken living conditions. Another bonus to increasing the minimum wage is that it could potentially…
