The Clown In The Street
The three principles of design represented in the wood cut print O Palhaco na Rua, The Clown in the Street by Jose Francisco Borges are unity and variety, symmetrical and emphasis and subordination. Similar shape of eyes, eyebrows and heads the artist used show unity, but the use of different colors show variety. Also by using different colors and the size of the clown we can see that the clown is the emphasis of this piece of art. The clown is close to being symmetrical except for the colors used for his clothes and hair and the size of his ears.

The work of the Spanish painter Paco Pomet (Granada, 1970) inserts itself against the flow in the contemporary visual culture of intensive production of images vindicating the use of the imagination to challenge the common, and obsolete, perception of reality. For the execution of his paintings, the artist selects anonymous images, usually from photographic archives, and reproduces them with astonishing accuracy and exceptional technical mastery. Along with this operation, Pomet distorts the meaning of the original image in different ways: integrating an element alien to the thematic depicted, and usually humorous; deforming the limbs or physical extremities of the beings he portrays; combining diverse scales; or using bright, almost unreal, colors, among others. The…

My other intention is paid to the shape of the woman’s face, a triangle, which is depicted as slim and pale. Viewers are then able to feel more delicacy and vulnerability, protected in the man’s embrace. The beauty of dress outlined by colorful circles is also dominated. Secondly, color in the painting, is original. The combination of light brown and yellow, the two dominant colors, makes the work brighter in terms of contrast. Love here, according to my perception, is as physically and emotionally passionate as the yellow burning fire. In spite of many color combination, I do not feel tangle in my eyes but a fantastic harmony. The yellow-featured intense black rectangles strengthen the image of a strong man. Especially, the pale skin of woman is also a miraculous mix, which is, I believe, the ability of gifted artists. Green and brown are another exquisite blend. It is also a beauty of nature when a loving couple exists on brown land and green grass. Overall, shape and color have the power to tremendously inspire me.…

My favorite villain was probably The Joker, because he is highly intelligent, he has no levels, there is no limit to what he is capable of doing. I think the Joker won in the end because he seriously did some serious damage. He got what he wanted he turned Gotham’s hero into a villain, and he ruined Wayne’s life by taking the people he cared about the most. In the first movie the Dark night the Joker made such of a big of an impact that it went on in The Batman Rises. But then again, like the Joker said "This is what happens when an unstoppable force meets an unmovable object" Which means it is in deadlock. No one is winning, no one is losing.…
