Jason goes off by himself and looks at the roll of paper he sneaked into his backpack. We see a quick glimpse that they are some sort of blueprints. He hears someone approaching him and quickly stuffs the blueprints back into his backpack. The driver from the heist comes to talk to him. He tells him that he was glad that Jason lived up to his reputation of being one of the quickest boxmen in the business. Jason responds that he is not in the business, he is just doing what he has to. This is where we learn that Jason was forced to do this because he broke into the boss’ house to try and make some money. The boss caught him and was about to kill him when he realized that he broke into his high security safe with great ease. He allowed him to live but he would have to be his new “boxman.” This last heist was Jason’s first on the team. Jason looks somewhat somber after telling this story. The driver tells him not to feel bad about breaking into the vault, the people who owned it were corrupt and the police were trailing them anyway. He tells Jason that they are like Robin Hood, except that they keep money. After the team is done celebrating, they all go their spate ways with their shares of the money. Jason gets to his apartment and sits down at his coffee table to count his money, when he is done, he looks in his bag and sees the blueprints. He grabs them and goes over to his television which

John William Waterhouse portrays a static woodland scene, centered around a beautiful woman resting upon an oil canvas. It is with perfect harmony, purity, and precision William is able to grasp the essence of the mythological story ‘Pandora's box’. William conveys this story through his idyllic painting. Tree trucks assert themselves in the background while their stiff roots cascade over slate rocks creating cohesion. Prodigious rocks continue to creep upon the canvas, sliding under the woman, known as Pandora. Her innocence is proclaimed by wearing a full length rose washed dress, while illustrating a slight sense of rebellion as one shoulder is laying bare. It is within Pandora's grasp that lays a decorative gold box. She ever so slightly…

    The Drawer Boy Analysis

he Drawer Boy replays the adventures of a young actor from a Toronto theatre group who visits the rural Ontario home of two elderly bachelor farmers to "research" farm life for a new play. In doing so, he demonstrates the way in which a collective creation appropriated the lives of its subjects and changed their own interpretation of it. The two farmers, Morgan and Angus, have achieved a precarious balance in their lives together. Morgan, a tough-minded, stubborn man, cares for Angus, who has had brain damage and lost his memory during the bombing of London in the Second World War. Angus is initially identified as "the drawer boy" because he used to design buildings, and has the talents of an architect. Morgan calms and reassures Angus by retelling their story - of the two tall women whom they loved, and who came to live with them in Canada. The young actor, Miles, learns, however, that this story is a fiction, and that the truth is much sadder. It would, in fact, destroy their friendship. In the process of telling their story as play, however, he reawakens Angus 's memory. Art becomes life. Miles is in effect the "drawer boy," delineating and creating an alternative reality. As he tells Morgan, "We 're here to get…

Independence is a founding concept of American life, to the point where July 4th is known as Independence Day. The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines “Independent” as “not subject to control by others” or “not affiliated with a larger controlling unit”. (Independent) This definition is scrutinized by writers such as Ralph Ellison in Invisible Man and Julia Alvarez in ¡Yo! These novels represent independence as a myth. Characters become physically independent as they move out of oppression, but psychologically are more dependent on other people. The independence of the narrators in these novels is entirely reliant on close networks of authority figures, family members, and language. The narrator in Invisible Man attains independence through…
