The Blind Side
The blind side is a film that has inspired me to do what I thought I couldn’t. The blind side is a film Based on the true story about Leigh Anne and Sean Tuohy who take in a homeless 17 year old African-American, called Michael. Michael has no idea who his father is and his mother is a drug addict, which is the main reason why he is in foster care.

Whenever Michael is placed in a new home he runs away. He has had little formal education and few skills to help him learn.

One day Michael was walking in the rain with nowhere to go and Leigh Anne saw him and she took him home to live with her family. When he expresses an interest in American football, she goes all out to help him, including giving the coach a few ideas on how best to use Michael's skills. They not only provide him with a loving home, but also hire a tutor to help him improve his grades. Michael, despite where he came from, despite him being homeless, and despite him having nothing, he was able to achieve his ‘impossible’ dream.

He was a homeless 17-year-old boy, with little or no education, and, with the selflessness of Leigh Anne he became a professional NFL player. I find this film truly inspiring because no matter what, its possible for your dreams to come true.

My dream is not to become a professional NFL player, however it is the message of this film that has given me the will to do what I want to do, and to follow my dream, this film made me believe that it is possible to achieve your dreams. This film is also really inspiring because it isn’t some lame made up film, it’s a true story, and this is the element of the film that I personally think made it truly motivating. Because any one could have just made up a story, but that’s not inspirational, how can we be inspired by something that hasn’t really happened?

Yes, its ok to have a story that’s completely made up but inspiring, however its difficult for us to relate to it, its difficult to believe that it could happened in

Michael was born into a bad situation to begin with; his mother was a crack addict. The neighborhood was known as a “broken windows” neighborhood, crime rate high and a lack of police presence. The plan that I have thought of for Michael is for him to continue living with the Tuohy family, but get in touch with his siblings. He needs to know his biological family. Sorting and organizing his life events in different factors, the majority of them are psychological factors, which should result with him seeing a counselor to relieve some of his life’s…

Also, I will be answering question number 8. In the beginning of the story, Michael was very scared and nervous at all times. He acted this way because if the government found out about his father, he would be sent back to Cuba and be separated with his brother. At the end of the story, however, Michael feels a lot more happy and relieved to do what he wants. The truth about his father’s death comes out, but his coach takes him into his household temporarily. Now, he isn’t keeping all of his feelings bottled up and…

The movie of The Blind Side attempted to mimic the book as much as possible, however there were noticeable choices that the director made that changed the presentation of the movie compared to the picture that the book created. One of the main choices was to cut out a lot of the football facts that were presented in the book. Throughout the book, numerous chapters were dedicated to talking about the history of the importance of the left tackle and other players in the game, but in the movie, almost all of those scenes were cut out. This made the movie move faster unlike the book which was slow moving at times.…

Alex CalinaThe Blind side is a not only a novel, but a movie based on the life of a young man named Michael Oher who was taken in by a family and turned into one of the most successful athletes in the history of the NFL. The movie has gotten many great reviews, because of its great acting and very deep story. “Is every extraordinary true story worth adapting to film? It seems as though we’ve heard everything before, especially when it comes to down-on-their-luck athletes defying the odds. Well, Michael Oher’s story is pretty much just that, so the success of The Blind Side will rest in your hands. His name was Mike. I usually wouldn’t say not “Like Mike” as of in the movie, but, in this case, he was Like Mike… All he wanted to do was play Basketball. There was never a time when he was bored, because basketball is what he’ll be playing. He was smart on the streets but, not too bright when it came down to books. He was my best friend, my right hand man, every time I looked at his face, I see a wallet full of benjamin bills, because I knew with his talent, and he would make it to the real court (NBA).…
