The best things in life are free
The best things in life are free

Are the best things in life really free? The answer to this question depends on every one of us. In my opinion, the best things in life really ARE free, but not everyone will agree with me. Let me explain. What do I consider to be the best things in life? Someone will say that those are nice clothes, cars, houses, travelling, but for me those are happines, family, friends, love, smile, hugs, laughter, health... These things money can't buy, they have to come from our hearts (like love and laughter) or maybe from God (like health). I agree that our life can be much easier when we have money to buy everything we need, but where is the limit to what we need? Many people are addicted to material things and they only believe in money. Those people think that they can even buy friends, or love, but when trouble comes those „friends“ will disappear and then their beautiful big houses or nice cars will mean nothing. I believe that the people who think they can buy friends and love, deep down in they hearts they know that they are wrong. True friendships, big family, health and good deeds are what makes us really happy. Because, what do we need all the money in the world for if we don't have anyone to share it with, if we don't have family and friends around. Finally, I think that there is no money in the world that could buy my or my family's health. There is no money that could buy my mother's smile or a word of wisdom from my sister or my friend. The most beautiful and most valuable things are the blessings we have in our life, and God gave many of them to us, definitely for free.

I am the only child of a single mother and my father passed away when I was young, nothing in my life has come to me easily, I have learned to earn everything I have. I should be considered for this membership without charge because I will be worth the money used.…

Freedom is the single most well known attribute of our great nation. But just how free are we really? I would argue that America is one of the freest countries in the world, though it could be freer. The rights and freedom described in the US Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, and the Bill of Rights, as compared with what current society actually allows creates many different pictures of freedom from several perspectives.…

Money can buy a lot of things but it cannot buy good health, respect, love, inner peace etc as these only come from good principles. A person can have million in his bank account but still feel poor because he is not content with his life, more money gives him only minimal satisfaction. Security come from within from knowing that what you have is enough for you to be happy, it comes from believing in your self. All of us tend to think that happiness comes from outside i.e. through money. A short story that supports this notion is "A Christmas Memory' by Truman Capote it is the story of a child who does not get anything for Christmas except handed down and worn out except for a kite but he is still satisfied and goes out to fly it. In another…

When one grows up in America, they are often told that they are free, but is this actually true? Not necessarily. It is true that America offers more choice and opportunities than some other countries, but the American people have begun to stretch out what freedom really is. With each passing year, the American dream that so many people have sought after, becomes more and more elusive due to money being the only way to get it. Not to mention laws, even good ones, cannot be in place for true freedom to take place. America, land of the “free”, is not truly free.…

I disagree with Aristotle and this form of logic; therefore, money is vital for survival at the present time. Money is needed for food, housing, transportation, and these things are needed for survival. According to Abraham Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, there are five phases that you need to accomplish to become a self-actualized person. They are physiological needs, which are food and water, lodging and air. The second phase is security needs, and they need to feel safe and secure, which could be living in a good neighborhood. The third phase is social needs, which are love and belonging, for example family. The fourth phase is esteem needs, which are self-esteem and accomplishments. The last phase is self-actualizing needs, and few people reach this stage. Self-actualizing people are concerned with personal development, and not concerned with what others think, nevertheless fulfilling their full potential. An example is Abraham Lincoln and John F.…

What I value the most is the gift of having a loving and caring family. To me family means everything. The reason family means so much to me is because without them, I wouldn't be where I am today. My parents try to make my life the best it can be, and I can’t thank them enough for that. whenever I need them I know I can talk to them about anything and everything. Family may be something so simple but it can also have a very great impact on your life, especially mine.…

“It seems only natural that happiness should flow from having more money. Even if they don’t admit it, people still behave as though it were true. More money means you can have what you want and do what you want.” (Dean 2008). Wealth and possessions do not equal happiness because no matter how much money and gems you have you can not buy feelings, but only comfort, also if you are working hard for more money you are experiencing more stress and negative emotions.…

Although there will always be those who say money cannot buy happiness, money can lead to personal satisfaction, which in the end leads to happiness. Happiness can be created through the things that one owns, also by what they have compared to others around them. As said in the article, “The Happiness of Pursuit,” one helps obtain happiness because “money can boost happiness if it allows people to obtain more of the things they need and desire” (qtd. in Kluger). This is proven through the fact that when people get what they want, or get more of the things they enjoy, then they become happy, and money can be used to get those things. It can also be argued that based on the amount of money one makes, their happiness can either be increased or decreased. In an article from the Time Magazine, according to Belinda Luscombe, “the more [people make], the more they felt their life was going well.” If it is true that the more money people make, and the better they feel pertaining to how their life is going, then they will definitely be happier depending on their monetary wealth. With the constant arguing back and forth of people as to whether money makes people happy, sad, or has no affect, it is apparent that money does affect people’s lives. Money can both help people get what they want, also help make their lives feel as if they are going well, which are both…

Why I Want To Be Free

    • 283 Words

We have been free for a very long time, but it hasn't always been like that. Ever since Christopher Columbus arrived in the new world, I have had more freedom. The slaves during this time had no freedom. They were only allowed to work and earn a small amount of money, until they were allowed freedom. Freedom is a sign of how we are Americans and why we live, where we live, and how we live.…

According to I Timothy 6:10, “Greed of money is the root all evil.” Money cannot buy love or friends. Love and friends require time, and while, if you think on the bright side, perhaps money can buy friends and love, those will not be genuine and will instead befriend you or love you just because of your money. I think the most important thing in life is love because even though you have lots of money but you don’t have someone to share it with it would be meaningless. So many people now almost live for money. Life is quite ironic now, when people are young they spend their health chasing money and when they’re old they spend their money chasing their health. They have treated money as a god, money now resembles power, and due to money lots of people lost their loves, they substituted money for their family and friends. They do not value relationships. I can sum up all of these; money is a one way trip to hell.…

Sometimes, freedom is defined as a “political right.” Other times simply as “the quality or state of being free” (Merriam-Webster). Other people might define freedom as a privilege that is fought for. Although these definitions are all for the same word, they are different in their meanings. The definition of the word freedom can be as a political right, the quality or state of being free, or a privilege that is fought for.…

    What Freedom Means to Me

Freedom- the ability to be able to do whatever you please. The right that we Americans are fortunate enough to possess and use in our everyday lives. Freedom has transformed lives, and formed others. Because of the freedom we have in the United States, our lives are significantly better than of those in other, more restricted countries. But as we often take this freedom for granted, it is a good thing to occasionally sit back and reflect on what true freedom means to YOU as an individual- and this is such an occasion.…
