Houston Chronicle: Federal Judge Orders Texas Prisons System to Provide A/C for Heat-Sensitive Inmates at Pack Unit The discussion in this article is the conditions that the Texas prison system impose on the inmates as in relation to providing adequate air-conditioning, especially for those inmates that are seniors and those that have medical issues. The controversy is the inmates fill that enough is not being done by the Texas prison system to provide air conditioning in heath smoldering conditions. Despite this argument, the judge ruled that the state had not done enough and gave them 15 days to draft a plan to ensure inmates would have living units cooled to no more than 88 degrees. The judge also reminded the officers that we all are governed by a constitution that applies to every one of us, not just the brightest.
