Testimonies in Our Daily Life
Testimonies in Our Daily Life

We can hear the buzzing of vehicles, the sound of the ticking clock the noise of the quarrels around our house. We can hear it almost every day. Everyone is busier than ever; there is no time for chitchatting, no time for recreation, no time for rest, but most of all no time for God. We could no longer handle our own self; we become robots in our daily respective modes of living. But what is lacking? People tried hardly to make something better in order for them to attain that success in life, to experience that desire for a change - a change for the better. Many have searched for it, but many have failed. Though some of them had reached their goal, some of them have all the riches they wanted, still something is lacking. Questions have bothered many, "Can we really attain that real success in life?" then if not, "What is really my purpose, who really am I or where do I come from?"

In our everyday life, we experience many challenges, problems, and trials in which we sometimes find ourselves hopeless or give up from all iniquities. Frankly, we forget to see the clearer view of things around us. We forget to think about the wonderful things the world we presently live. We see enormous trees, gigantic mountains, overflowing rivers, and so much more. How can we forget about these things? Did you ever ask where do all these come from? Perhaps you have. Everything that is good in our life is a gift from our loving Heavenly Father. Whenever we pick something in our pocket is a blessing, the air we breathe, the water we drink, the earth we live in, the sun that gives light, everything around us is for free. Every single aspect of blessing we get from our daily lives is a gift from God. Truly, He did not forget each one of us; He loves us more than we know. How can we give back all these things? How can we show our gratitude to Him? When we contribute something for Him in return, we express our love, faith, and gratitude. If we become

We human being can never survive the challenges that we faced without the guidance of our almighty God. We should keep in our mind that we are nothing without the guidance of God. We should also be thankful to the blessings that we receive. Just like what Odysseus did, he forgot to thank Poseidon for helping him in the battle of Trojan…

Growing up we are all told the direction of our paths- go to school, graduate, get a job, get married, have kids/grandkids, and finally, retire. It’s the inescapable reality that is forced upon us throughout our whole existence. As society we are forced into conventionalism, pushed towards a dream that we do not even necessarily desire, but since it is the ‘norm’ we conform to it out of lack of knowledge of the world. Just the thought of how many other millions of people there are in the world, and how miniscule we are in the grandee scheme of the world is quite over whelming. As Shakespeare said it: think of your life as if we are all actors in a play and we all have that one small role with one line to say. The majority of us would try to execute that line in the most powerful and prominent voice we could ever possibly muster, in hopes that the audience might notice us. Hoping, praying that we had made the play better with just that one line. With our lives we want to try and make a difference, to be noticed, but that rarely happens. Why? Because we are forced into being Orthodox, forced into being people that are way less then what we are capable of. We may have the most outstanding and brilliant ideas ever to be thought of but they will never be heard because we are taught that the average don’t make it ‘big’. How many of you personally know someone from your younger years that actually became famous for something positive, like stopping global warming? I’m going to go with next to none of you do. We are taught at a certain age that we should just give up on our dreams and ambitions and go after something more realistic- like an office job. Conformity not only leads us away from our full living potential that God but us on this earth for but also has numerous other constraints. These go all the way from letting the higher up in society win by being able to control us with a simple idea, to actually being sunned…

Living a life like this for years brought me to notice I didn’t even have a firm relationship with God, but a relationship where I came to him when I needed him. We cannot just take for granted God’s grace because his grace was paid with a price, his only son died for our sins and he didn’t need or want anything in return. When you open your eyes to what he really did for us and how big his grace and love is you will start walking a life knowing God’s grace was paid with a precious…

"The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quiet, alone with the heavens, nature and God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature," (Anne Frank, 5). In times of despondency and even contentment, people look towards the gods for counsel. They set the guiding principles for human subsistence. People worship these ideal beings throughout all circumstances. They pray to give thanks for good fortune, to ask for forgiveness, to be blessed, and more often than not, to obtain security. For a bounteous measure of people, the ultimate purpose in life is to be the most preeminent person you can…

All of us on this earth desire happiness and many of us go through great efforts to achieve that goal. Some look for happiness in material things, but are often disappointed because of the transitory nature of the material world. Others look to religion and spirituality for happiness, but too often their attempts fail because of the difficulties of most such paths and the lack of perseverance and discipline on part of the seekers.…

God has made each of us in his image with a purpose; through Christ, the Holy Spirit makes its home in our souls. Humanity is a fallen congregation of Gods Church; it’s a greatly loved hindrance. Constantly failing and achieving, we do not ever deserve Christ’s love but we are blessed with it through the resurrection. In Matthew, we read about God’s love and that we are greater than the birds. In Matthew 6:25-34 it says, “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life…. Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?” We are more valuable than silver or gold…

Have you ever wondered our purpose living here? Have you ever thought of why you were born? Each of us is brought here for a purpose, but the question is, what is that purpose? A discovery, we will soon find out as we journey along our life. Each of us is created in a special way. Each of us has unique talents, gifts and abilities made especially for us. God has given us these gifts and talents that will best enable us to serve His kingdom and become the person He knows we can be. We have our own special way to show and express our talents. Why don’t we try to give back and express these talents to our God who gave it to us in the first place? My friends, these talents would not be given to us for no reason. These are to be used for God’s glory. I would like to share a short realization. When I was in elementary, I hated participating in school activities and programs because I didn’t believe that I have a talent to share. I did not think that I was given a special gift, a special talent blessed within me. Then, after a year, I accepted a personal relationship with God, He started opening my eyes to see the gifts and talents that I didn’t realize I already have. Because of these gifts and talents, I discovered my purpose in life. And that is, to serve God with the talents and gifts. Praise God, I am now serving in our campus ministry and actively participating in religious organizations and activities. I am sharing my gift of speech through serving in the mass as lector or prayer leader, I am sharing the gift of healing to lift spirits and heal minds and hearts of the emotionally troubled, and I am sharing my talent in dancing through animating praise songs to encourage people in worship activities. Thank God I am blessed to share and use my talents to love, to live and to let people see, especially in moments of giving glory to God. My friends, I encourage you, to discover and offer your talents to the Lord. The Lord wants you to show the talents He has given…

This study argues that the spiritual quest is rooted in our biological, psychological, linguistic, and social nature. 'Quest' speaks to the deepest desires of what it means to be human but also of what it means to be alive for all living, sentient organisms. It is about flourishing, about well-being in the fullest sense, about thriving.…

    What Is Sucess?

We, mostly referring to those, especially the young who have treaded the path filled with enigma and decisions to be made must eventually come to a halt, where the paths to success and failure lie. The fruits of success lay right before our eyes but yet out of reach. However, the devastation of failure seems so far away but is no further than a stone’s throw away. And what is success? Many of us, mainly those who are working see success as having great wealth and power, however, some see success in different ways. For example, some see having a good relationship with someone as success, some see success in helping the needy, some see success as being happy, and some even see it in having time to enjoy the little things. Considering the fact that I’m still a teenager and have not any plans for building up a family, success in my eyes is obtaining a relatively good status in society. It is better in my view to aim high initially because we will not be able to return to the past with our mea culpa. The road to success is like a busy highway, if you stop suddenly, you might get involved in an accident. Just like our lives, everything is fast paced and many of us find it painfully difficult to adapt to this kind of life. Some are not audacious enough to attempt and therefore discouraged by the stress and adversity that is to be faced in the future. Besides that, many of us happen to be victims of indolence and having the ‘Doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde’ personality. Our unwilling and pious actions constantly draw us away from our goals. Think of our lives as a game of soccer, only without the goal posts. We would be like dogs without a leash, and sheep without a Sheppard, wandering aimlessly with no purpose at all. Now a game of soccer with the goal posts, on reflection to our lives, we set goals easily just as a soccer player sees the goal posts, but it requires lots of effort and discipline to score a goal as well as to succeed. Everything has pros and cons but not…
