Terrorist Attacks

On september 11th 2001 a series of 4 terrorist attacks by Al-Qaeda occurred killing almost 3000 people and injuring over 6000. This terrorist attack resulted in the destruction of the world trade centre and overwhelming damage to nearby buildings. Many studies and investigations have been performed by social scientists looking into the attack, resulting in many different answers and also conspiracies. Psychologists may research why the terrorist group did what they did and what motivated them and lead them to think that their actions were exceptable. More importantly, psychologists could also conducts experiments such as interviews and surveys to see peoples opinions and thought process about the attack. Physcologists will look at the way people responded and why they reacted the way they did and how different people reacted to the attack.
