Techsid Argumentative Essay
One of the uncertainties that TechSid faces is the number of competitors within the market. The company would have to offer something different to gain a competitive advantage over its competitors. What is it about TechSid that makes customers choose its products? Is it good customer service, a great return policy, or unique products? A lot of companies offer these benefits, so it is crucial for TechSid to think critically about possible tactics to help separate itself from competitors. It's great to have a goal but realistic steps must be taken to work towards that goal. Furthermore, if the company plans to establish a well-known name, aggressive marketing strategies must be implemented, which can be very expensive. As technology quickly …show more content…
Maybe there will be a recession and people will be laid off work and consumers will have less disposable income to spend on gadgets and accessories. However, history has shown consumers will continue to splurge on smartphones despite poor economic conditions (Hamblen). Either way, markets can be unpredictable, so it’s wise for TechSid to prepare for the worst-case scenario. Another potential unknown TechSid faces is if the Canadian government implemented higher trade barriers, like that of Donald Trump. One source stated during a campaign, Trump said “he'd impose tariffs of 35 percent on Mexican imports and 45 percent on Chinese imports to protect American jobs from unfair foreign competition. Companies that import those goods would pay the tax at the border” (“For Americans”). In this event, TechSid would have to either pay a hefty price or consider finding new suppliers within North America. As there are several unknown factors that can impact TechSid, it’s important for the company to consider the implications of each scenario and to be prepared ahead of time. Being proactive is the best way to be one step ahead of the market’s

The ability to capture values along the Technology Adoption Lifecycle determines not just how successful a firm will be, but whether it will create competitive advantage through technology. Firstly, by having technological advancements as the most imperative goal in businesses it can result in a dependency on technology. Dependency means that the company’s main reliance is on technology in order to function. Therefore if the technology fails then the business can become unsuccessful. For example this reliance on technology was made evident when the computers that ran the power for Melbourne tunnels failed in October 2012 and resulted in the Melbourne tunnels being shut down (ABC, 2012, para 1). On the other hand, technology can result in a more efficient workplace and work environment. For example Intel has increased their productivity through wireless notebooks by five percent per employee (Rungta, Tierney, Towles, 2008, p2). However when technology does breakdown it can cause larger problems such as, a loss of customer reliability and data los. This was made evident when a fault occurred in Commonwealth Bank Automated Teller Machines and online banking system in March 2012 and resulted in customers being able to overdraw their account (Zappone, 2012, para). Therefore, organisation’s need to focus on strategies that allow people to work with minimal technology. Hence, it is evident that companies should not depend on technology because it is not always reliable and can negatively affect a businesses performance. Therefore technological advancements should not be imperative for a business today.…

The prices of college tuition have increased yearly, and not much of an effort is put forth to try to lower the costs. For example, colleges in the state of Pennsylvania have a high tuition. Moravian College’s tuition is about $32,931, and after receipt of grants and scholarships for one year it will be $22,900. East Stroudsburg University’s tuition is about $6,240, and after receipt of grants and scholarships for one year it will be $12,500. I can barely afford Community College, and I know for a fact I wouldn’t be able to afford any of these colleges or universities either. In this essay, I will explain through facts and opinions, why the cost of college tuition should be lowered.…

“Not Guilty” of murdering her two year old daughter, Caylee. How could this be? Casey Anthony was cleared of first degree murder, aggravated manslaughter, and aggravated child abuse charges on Tuesday, July 5, 2011. This is the biggest disputed verdict since the O.J. Simpson trial in 1995 and everyone has been watching as this trail unfolded a significant amount of evidence against Anthony. Finding Casey Anthony not guilty of murder is a misrepresentation of our judicial system because the evidence against her is overwhelming and Anthony continually told lies to the law enforcement authorities.…

The issue of whether or not college athletes should be paid for play has been a heated debate across the nation for years. Most would say that college athletes are already paid to play by the scholorships that they are given such as free tuition, meals, books, room and board. However, some would say that college athletes are being taken advantage of by the coaches, universities they attend and the NCAA because of the career ending injuries, lack of being able to support themselves off of campus and the lack of a complete education. There are many pros and cons to this heated debate and as we have seen in various reports and statements from the NCAA on why college athletes should or shouldn’t be paid to play.…

LO1 – Decisions about technology and innovation are strategic, and managers need to approach them systematically. Assessing the technology needs of a company usually begins with benchmarking. Benchmarking compares the organization’s practices and technologies with those of other companies. Then the company will look at the environment through scanning’s. These scanning’s focus on what can be done and what is currently being developed. Both of these practices still might not be enough to stay ahead of the innovation curve and use disruptive innovation which refers to a process by which a product, service or business model takes root initially in simple applications at the bottom of a market and them moves “up market.” Managers should make an effort to be aware of disruptive innovation that could potentially displace established competitors in their industry.…
