Teachers today need a range of assessment approaches using technology to gauge the achievement of students. Models of technology integration range from relatively passive uses (e.g., teachers reviewing a topic with a power point presentation) to more interactive, hands-on uses(e.g., students using word processing for student reports or calculators for mathematics problem solving, doing internet searches). Assessments tell us how well the students have learned what the teachers expect them to learn and teaching approaches ensure that the students have grasped the concept. So for this to occur, assessments and teaching must be aligned closely, then they strengthen each other. The critical factor is matching the teaching strategy with an appropriate assessment strategy. If a teacher does an exceptional job in assessment of her students but the teacher does not take the assessment into planning her next lessons then the assessments are a waste. Some of the assessment approaches I plan to use in my math class are rubrics, drill and practice software. I intend to use Rubrics to tell me which particular area my student is falling behind. The drill and practice software which I will be using during mock tests will give me an instant feedback, thus saving my time that would otherwise be spent in manual grading. This way I can give more attention to my students.

Using assessments to help plan for future lessons allows you to grow as a teacher. It is also important to see where your students stand in your class in order to help them be successful in the subject.     Assessment help to satisfy a number of different purposes in addition to learners learning, such as classifying achievement, quality assurance and supporting lifelong learning. As a teacher/ lecturer, I first organised initial assessment for my learners to test their knowledge of the course and level of literacy and numeracy due to the nature of the course. My class can be a mixture of different learners, some having done the course before and just need to repeat that level and others just starting completely. The information gathered from initially assessment of my learners will be taken into consideration seriously when designing my sessions because not all my learners will be in the same academy level and also how to meet their needs. I will ensure my session is designed in details, recommend necessary books to help and delivered on a timely manner in order for my learners to achieve their goal, to pass the external examination with excellent grade and make progress. In order for teaching to be very effective and also constantly monitoring my learner’s progress, I do organise tutorial for my learners which is mostly treating individual questions on pass topics and also opportunity work with them.     For schools and universities, both have experienced many changes with the technology that is available. Instead of students having to go to the library to complete their work, most can now just walk into their classroom filled with new desktops and laptops. With the increase of technology in most schools, it is almost becoming a necessity for classrooms to have up to date technology for students. Students that have been able to work with laptops ever since elementary school get so used to the technology available that most find it just standard in classrooms today. In the classroom it does not stop with the computers, now teachers are having smart boards made and put into classrooms. But do these smart boards really help the students learn better? I highly doubt that a smart board in the classroom is going to help a student want to pay attention to another boring lecture of some moment of time in our history.     One cold morning a young man by the name of Cyrus was awoken abruptly by his alarm clock. He had spent all the previous night playing games and browsing the internet. He took a shower, ate, threw on his clothes, a Carhartt and went out the door. He went inside the school feeling miserable because he knew he had seven hours left before he could do anything remotely fun again.
