Technology and happiness
Technology has changed our lives but has it made our lives any better? Some believe technology makes people happier because, people want to upgrade their electronics to new, more efficient pieces of equipment. The question is rather or not this new advances technology leads to happiness. Technology has created some wonders. We have walked the moon, made aviation, land, water, and rail transport possible and we have broken the sound barrier. People have been progressing for thousands of years, and we still are. Researchers are looking to improve current technology and come up with modern, efficient devises to improve our lives. Cellular phone, laptop computers, and remote controls are a few examples. Almost every single one of these devises has a thing in commend. It is the ability to get in touch with our love ones. We are in constant contact with friend and family, and we are sitting for hours in front of the screen, of a computer, TV or mobile phone. It seems, as we have become addicts to technology, and is has become a habit, and sometimes that habit get the better of us. Not everyone is cursed by these devises. More than 50% of the people in the world have never made or received a telephone call. Some people will say that technology and small electronic devises are

Growing up in my generation has always had me wondering how different our lives would be if we had no internet. We rely on our cellphones and computers so much, are we really living? If we aren’t living, where does our happiness come in play? Melvin Kranzberg quotes: “Technology is neither good nor evil. The most we can say about it is this: It has come” (Kranzberg). Kranzberg is saying that there are advantages and disadvantages to having access to technology. We have the flexibility to learn anything, anywhere we can reach a computer or device. Sadly, with social media becoming a huge hype, we are diminishing face-to-face communication. Is technology preventing humans from really living while impacting a person's level of happiness?…

As Schlesinger expresses, “The last two lifetimes have seen more scientific and technological achievement that the first 798 put together”(Schlesinger 41). Whether it deals with cars, travel, medicine, media, or a host of other topics, advancements in technology are occurring all around us. It is up to us whether to accept these changes or not.
