Tatania is a strong, independent woman – not the soft-spoken feeble girl. In act two, scene one, when Tatania and Oberon argue about who should have the ownership of the changeling boy, Tatania sticks to her opinions of having the boy “…Not for thy fairy kingdom. —Fairies, away! We shall chide downright, if I longer stay… ”. She threatens Oberon – if she stays longer she will have a brawl with him. It shows that she is not scared of Oberon consequently she is powerful and brave. Her strong independent side shines through her persuasive argument.
