Pushing yourself and always striving for achievement is not an easy thing to accomplish. Never taking the simple route in life and always working hard to become the strongest person possible takes a lot of hard work and devotion. In my life, hard work and perseverance have been the only paths to success. This is why people that know me well would describe me as a dedicated human being. I work diligently in school to maintain high grades and always try to play my hardest in all of the sports that I participate in. Playing the trumpet and becoming a musician is also something that I (pride myself in) work long and hard to achieve, and it requires focus and commitment. While I cannot perform any of these endeavors perfectly, I always try to achieve my “personal best”. Dedication is the single most important quality that has enabled me to achieve my “personal best” at any given time in my life.
My desire to do the best that I can in school exemplifies my dedication. I always challenge myself to take the most advanced courses possible because they will benefit me in the future. By enrolling in AP, IB, and honors level classes, I have made myself a better student as well as a smarter individual. Every year I set high standards for myself and I work to reach my goals because I believe it will lead to success. I set my sights on short term goals such as achieving a four or higher on the AP test as well as long term goals including getting into a good college and finding myself an enjoyable career. By realizing that improvement is always possible, I know to keep pushing myself to be the best student that I can be. Through my years in school I have learned that intelligence isn’t always the key to success, instead it is hard work fueled by dedication.
