Superman's Definition Of A Hero
According to the Merriam-Webster online dictionary, the definition of a hero is “a person of distinguishing courage or ability, admire for his brave deeds and noble qualities”. In other words, a hero is an individual with unique attributes that can overcome adversities, and get the admiration of others. Most of the people define a hero as an individual who has done an act of valor by using superpowers, or by a brave act of valor. Let’s use Superman as an example of a person with superpowers. He gains his superhuman characteristics by coming to earth, and because of the planet’s atmosphere, his body gained great strength. He uses his super qualities to fight and protect us from villains, some of them, with the same strength. On the other hand, …show more content…
It can be a famous scientist or maybe a philanthropist. For example Stephen Hawking, who contracted a neurological illness, and left him in a wheelchair for the rest of his life. Against all odds, he survived and became a brilliant mathematician as well as a thinker. For many people, he is considered a hero, because he fought very hard against a degenerative condition. He is an example to others on how to overcome adversity and still manage to help society with his numerous works in many fields like space, math, science, and evolution. He inspires a future generation of thinkers, and intellectuals to be like him for the benefit of humanity. Another example is Bill Gates; he is the co-founder of Microsoft, a multi-billion computer company. He made a fortune with his company, now retired and a billionaire, he created a charity organization, with his wife Melinda Gates, called Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. With his fortune, Bill Gates and his wife have helped many people and communities by giving scholarships to about twenty thousand young people. His foundation also helped install forty-seven thousand computers in eleven-thousand libraries around all the United States. But the most extraordinary action that make him a real hero is the use of part of his fortune to eradicate preventable diseases, like polio, in the poorest countries of the world. Because of their extraordinary qualities as a thinker who fights a disease, or a multi-billion business person. Both Hawking and Gates can be considered

what exactly is a hero? Who can be classified as heroic? From my perspective a hero is not only someone who wears a cape, has superhuman strength, wears fancy clothes or someone who saves his lady from the bad guy; however he is someone who stands for strength, bravery, humbleness, justice and equality. I believe a hero is someone who truly intends to make the world a better place for all people. He stands for what he believes in even though he may encounter danger and obstacle. Throughout history, there have been an incalculable number of heroes; that can be through reality or fictitious. From viewing the clips from this assignments and reading various articles regarding heroism, there are multiple aspects that determine exactly what a hero should be. In regards to the Spiderman video, Aunt May explains that a hero is someone that is courageous, self-sacrificing, and sets examples for others. Likewise, an article I read describes a hero as someone who is courageous, selfless, humble, patient, and caring. In my opinion, a hero is an individual who cares more about the life of others than themselves; they would do anything in their power to protect others as well as the world around them.…

A hero to many is someone who goes around running impossible speeds like flash doing good or a person with supernatural powers. Or like Judah thinks a hero is the good guy that fights the bad guy and always wins. However, to me a hero is a person who doesn’t care about money, fame and glory but they care about the happiness they can bring and the care they can bring for their family. A person who consoles me when I am upset, a person who always tries to find the good in everything. A person who fights for her beliefs(even if sometimes they are stubborn about it). A person who always gets me on my good side when I have a bad day. Someone who smiles and laughs at her own mistakes. Ciocia Tereska this why you are my hero!!! Against all odds…

Those stereotypes aren't real, anybody can be a hero, anything can be a hero for that matter. A hero is a person who sacrifices something, but a hero doesn't always have to sacrifice. Being a hero could be giving a homeless person food or money.…

The definition of a hero is a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. “People who go to work everyday, make sacrifices to raise families, and get through life without hurting other people if they can help it-those are the real heros”, this quote by Dean Koontz, means to me that everyone can be a hero. Everyone can be a hero by standing up for something that they truly, deeply care about.…

Imagine a mother that leaves her education behind for the well-being and the future of her child. If that is not a hero, then what does the word hero really mean? A hero is not just a person with superpowers, but somebody who cares about others more than material things. A hero is someone who takes responsibility and protects the weak. Thus, the three types of heroes are everyday hero, superhero and famous hero. My three examples of heroes are Superman, my mother and the Mirabal sisters. They are different but share a common goal, which is to protect and care about others.…

The dictionary defines a hero as "a man of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities," but not everyone chooses to interpret a hero this way. There are many ways someone can choose to see a hero as, such as soldier, superhero, or just an ordinary person who chooses to do a heroic act. In my opinion, a hero is someone who goes out of his or her way to make a significant and positive difference in someone 's life, a person who will do the right thing even when it does not necessarily benefit themselves. There is no one person or opinion that can decide what actually makes a true hero, but to some people, a hero has superpowers or has done a heroic act at least once in their life. As the dictionary defines it, a hero is "a man of distinguished courage or ability," in other words, a true hero is someone who will always do the…

A hero can be found on the other side of the world fighting a war for Americas freedom or rescuing someone from a burning building or possibly saving a person from drowning. A hero could be a friend that saved another person from making a life altering mistake or a professor who strives to inspire students to reach their full potential. Most often, true heroes are ordinary average people that usually do not always get famous or get recognition for the good they have done. In the past, many unsung heroes have gone unnoticed for performing heroic actions and selfless acts of kindness. Some, are made heroes just by doing a good deed for someone else. In example, there are numerous people living in shelters across the world and by lending a helping hand to those in need, in whatever way one might choose, in return a life may be saved or at least made better by these kind acts. At times a hero may immerge by doing nothing other than speaking up and demanding to be heard. Occasionally, a person may be speaking for the benefit of others in hopes that they will listen. When cancer struck Erin Andrews, a popular sportscaster, instead of keeping quiet, Andrews spoke out about her situation and how important it is to get regular exams. A document in the New York Post titled “Fighter Erin is the real 'Super' hero” states…
