Should Children Under 18 be Prosecuted as Adults?
Most people will say that children under the age of eighteen should not be tried in adult court because they are still developing and aren’t quite set in their ways yet. The other side of the argument is that that they should be tried in adult court because if they do an adult crime they should be able to do the adult time. When Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin, and Jessie Misskelly where sentenced in the adult court room, the public had some mixed feelings about if this was right or not. The three of them could have been moved to the adult court for many reason like, the seriousness of the offense, how the offense was committed, and the prospects for community safety and rehabilitation.
