The China Study

Raised on his family's dairy farm, Dr. Colin Campbell started his day with the usual breakfast of eggs, sausage, bacon, fried potatoes, ham and a full glass of whole milk; this was part of their normal diet. His dad had his first heart attack at the age of sixty-one and he later died from a second massive coronary at age seventy. Dr. Campbell a vegetarian now with a family of his own has dedicated his life in researching the correlation between our health and what we eat; understanding now that the disease that killed his father can be prevented and even reversed. The China Study is not a diet book; Dr. Campbell and his youngest son Tom Campbell co-wrote scientifically proven facts and ground breaking research in a way that everyone can understand. This is a story about how food can change our lives and prevent disease.

What really causes Cancer? Cancer is one of the most feared diagnoses in America today. Each year millions are spent on cancer research and each year more Americans are dyeing from this disease, so what are we doing wrong? What if people found out that there was a way to cure cancer that was affordable, didn't require shots or medication and most importantly didn't require undergoing cell killing treatments like chemotherapy? What if there was a way to prevent cancer? Most people would jump at the thought of this idea, however, finding out the cure is a whole food, plant based diet usually makes people think twice. Most Americans have grown up thinking of a healthy diet as eating meat, poultry, dairy and refined sugars. Physicians are even skeptical and even resistant to this change. This change is thought of as a difficult one, but isn't it more difficult to fing yourself or loved ones battling cancer, heart disease, diabetes and obesity? We are considered to be a civilized, wealthy society; we pay more for our health care than any other country in the world yet our "health" is spiraling out of control and the worst part...
