Summary Of Learning A Second Language By Linda Moore
In her essay, Linda Moore tries to persuade her audience that learning a second language should be a requirement not a luxuary. She tried to persuade her audience by using facts and experiences from other countries and to touch the reader's feeling to make him/her on her side. Firstly, she compared the number of Chineese student who are learning English with the number of American students who are learning Chineese. The difference is HUGE. She used that to demonstrate how highly regarded this skill is to other countries. Additionally, she mentioned the amount of European Union citizens who speak more than a language to demonstrate the this skill isn't important just in China, but worldwide.     Language is a critical component of every student and the importance of learning a language is an integral part of the learning process. Not only is it important to learn how to read, but it is equally as important to be able to learn how to write.
