Suicide In Shakespeare's Romeo And Juliet
Suicide If they couldn’t be together in life the only other solution was death, right? Why should they have to be apart just because of their parent’s feud. Suicide is a popular plot device in many stories and often makes for a sad story. Although this is not always the case, sometimes it can make for a happy ending. The suicide in Romeo and Juliet was not a tragedy. If Romeo and Juliet wanted to be together out of secret they had two options: 1. Run away from their home and family together, or 2. Die. Neither of these choices are easy to make but I believe the latter would be a better option. In scene 3 Juliet threatens to kill herself after hearing about Romeo only being banished “Both you and I, for Romeo is exiled. He made you for a highway
