Success Fascinate Research Paper
Fascinate: to be irresistibly drawn to something in particular. If I am being completely honest, the idea of success fascinates me and it always has; at times, it may even be called an obsession. This drive, obsession, and necessity to succeed is an essential part of who I am, it is what led me to where I am today, and will lead me to where I will go in the future. After tasting success for the first time I was instantaneously hooked, I knew I had to have more and could never get enough. This initial occurrence of triumph happened during first grade, after receiving my first A, when I came to the realization that homework and class work were worth something. I then tried to obtain the best scores on all busy work and compared myself to others around me. At the end of the year I was acknowledged and awarded for my unyielding dedication to my school work, and after having gotten so much attention and praise for simply doing the best I could do, I knew this same pattern of success had to be continued. Following this major revelation, success became my main interest and it never faded. As I grew older, not only did my mentors take notice, but my peers did as well; I became the person who could do …show more content…
However, when I entered high school this need, want, and interest in success exploded into an outright obsession; with all the opportunities that were now available to me in high school, I wanted the chance to succeed at them all and that is exactly what I did. I joined every club, organization, and activity I had time for and worked to thrive in them all., leading me to create various memories within the organizations I joined, yet succeeding in them made the experience so much better. I motivated myself and peers because I did not want to succeed just for my own interest, I wanted my teammates and colleagues to succeed alongside me for the betterment of us

I was inducted into the National Honors Society during my junior year of high school, and I graduated with honors. Both of these successes are the two greatest accomplishments of my high school career. These two achievements prove how dedicated I was, and still am, to getting the best education I could. In the 1600’s more than three million African slaves were shipped to Brazil for working on sugar plantations. At the time, cane crops were producing greater wealth for the Europeans than all of Britain’s efforts combined. The growing empire produced a need for workers (McMurray 2009). The African slaves provided cheap labor and resistance to emerging diseases. Salvador Bahia, the most concentrated area of Africans in Brazil, soon became home to religious practices such as one called Candomble. The Candomble belief system quickly became one of many defining characteristics, worship practices, community unification and symbolism.…

To be able to succeed in everything is a goal most people have for themselves. With success comes happiness, comfortability, and a sense of accomplishment. This is my greatest goal in life, to be able to make something of myself; to become someone no one else could imagine me being. This kind of motivation and perseverance that I display is what I believe can make me an excellent candidate for the National Honors Society. I have always set outstanding goals for myself, putting the pressure on myself I needed to so that I would get the outcome I desired. This strength shows through my grades and the rigorous classes I take, as well as my growth in character. Not only do I excel in my perseverance, but I believe I am a strong leader here at Central Dauphin, someone who is not only helpful in the classroom, but also in the community.…

Always by my side and never out of reach, with piles of homework stacked in front of me, I steadily declined the use of time I spent on my goal. I convinced myself it was because of the lack of time and all the work, but I was lying to myself. I lied to myself and I believed it, I distracted myself from what was important and in turn destroyed my chance of accomplishment...once again. One more week and I would have completed my goal, but I procrastinated and not only gave up on the project, but in myself. I believe the problem lies in my ability to stay positive and engaged for a difficult problem throughout a long period of time and how I decide to manage it. If I want to have the satisfaction of fulfilling something in my life, I have to be able to believe that I can do so, and that I have it in me to endure and persist. If I have this optimistic outlook on the opportunities and chances ahead of me, the belief I have in myself will intensify and I’ll complete more challenges and goals. To improve this ability, I intend on continuing this goal in the future and accomplishing it, and hopefully it will be the last time. This project opened my eyes to just how much of myself needs improvement, and with this experience in mind I hope to set a path for myself to build myself up to be the best I can…

Success is an integral part of a good life. Everybody wants to be successful and everybody has the potential to be such. The familial environment that I grew up in and the habits that were instilled in me set me on a successful path. I consider myself to come from a successful family. My father was an esteemed judge in Iraq (I say was because he is no longer alive; he was killed after the break out of the war in Iraq in 2003). My mother graduated college with an engineering degree and taught electrical engineering at several high schools in Baghdad. Growing up between them, it was never ok to be lazy or careless and being successful was the optimum way of life. I was always encouraged to do well in school and give my best effort in everything.…

It was not until my junior year of high school that I started really caring about my schoolwork. I was very determined to raise my grade point average and start applying myself. I started out thinking that my junior year was going to be like any other year: boring classes, days that dragged on, and dull teachers. That year, however, I came to realize that without some of my teachers, I probably would not have worked as hard as I did in school. When I decided to start taking an interest in my classes, I was given an extra push that encouraged me not to give up but to work to my full potential.…
