Heriot Watt University

Due to continuous review within the University it is anticipated that the names of the courses noted below are subject to change. These changes should not impact on the progression routes.

2. Other criteria

English language requirements or courses: IELTS 6, TOEFL 550 (Paper-based exam); 213(Computer-based exam) 80 (Internet-based exam)

Engineering: Heriot-Watt does not accept students with an HND for entry into year 3 of engineering courses unless the applicant has performed well overall, has performed above average in maths and has studied a course in which the curriculum is closely aligned to that of the degree course being applied for.

3. MBA Progression Routes
Prospective students need to complete 3 MBA Courses by Distance Learning (at least one of these should be a core course) in order to be accepted at the taught Part-Time MBA, HWUDC.

American University in the Emirates (AUE) Location: Dubai International Academic City, Dubai, UAE
Website: www.aue.ae AUE will grant HND holders credit towards both Associate and Bachelor’s degrees for all present and future specialisations offered by the university. Middlesex University Dubai Location: Dubai Knowledge Village, Dubai, UAE
Website: www.mdx.ac Middlesex University will consider all HND holders for entry into the university’s honours degree programmes in an appropriate discipline. HND holders who have completed several modules with distinctions and merits will be considered for entry into the final year of the university’s honours degree programmes. The university has also created ‘the Distinguished Edexcel Graduate Grant’ which includes a 10% waiver fee towards tuition fees only (ie: the waiver cannot be used for any other expenses) for undergraduate programmes at Middlesex University Dubai only. Privileges of the grant are available for students commencing their university studies in the academic year 2009-10 and are valid for the full duration of normal study.
