Our first big thing we did happened in the second week of July, we went to a training area for three days and focused training on Darby style patrols and ambushes. Before we left there were a couple of Soldiers that had not been inspected properly i.e. missing night vision mounts and busted 2qts, conduct a thorough hands on of everything to make sure your guys are ready for the fight. During training, each man was given a leadership position at some point in time and he was informally critiqued after the patrol was over. As you stated yourself, it had been a long time since you led …show more content…

Throughout the whole mission we never had any help or good guidance from our so called leader. Our leadership made the mission ten times harder than it had to be. If they would have stepped in, and hired a few more people or let my team borrow a few people from another team that wont using all their members we would have finished a lot sooner as well as done a better job as well. So instead myself and a fellow employee had to step up and plan out how we could inspect all units under the 30th Brigade as well as get parts ordered and apply them when they came…

Within three months, the relationship between the schoolhouse and platoon sergeants was seamless, fluid, and supported the Soldiers with near perfect efficiency. Additionally, she ensure that all Soldiers in her charge complied with the Army Body Composition Program. She discharged three NCO’s that were failing to progress on the program, making a strong statement to the young Soldier’s that compliance was a…

Accountability is defined as, the obligation imposed by law or lawful order or regulation on an officer or other person for keeping accurate record of property, documents, or funds. The person having this obligation may or may not have actual possession of the property, documents, or funds. Though I am aware of the different types of accountability in my case, I failed to ensure one of the most important, which is personal accountability. One of the values in the United States Army, that most seek in soldiers is accountability. Accountability (in this case) means that you can be relied upon to arrive to work and appointments on time, meet deadlines, be in the right place at the right time, and do what needs to be done to complete the mission at hand. Failing to be accounted imposes actions to be taken not only upon yourself but on your chain of command as well. As a NCO, I know that I must lead from the front and set an example for the junior enlisted soldiers as well as my peers, and subordinates. I knew that once I raised my right hand and recited the oath, I became accountable not only for myself but for my fellow comrades as well and I learned that it begins with self. If I can 't fully account for myself how can or why should I expect to be held accountable for a soldier, squad or platoon.…
