How would that curriculum support your interests?

I want to join the College of Literature, Arts and Sciences, which will give me a comprehensive liberal arts education in the heart of a major research university. I plan to major in Sociology with a concentration in Economy, Business and Society. Sociology will allow me to develop analytical skills and become a critical thinker.. These skills will be essential when I will be I able to apply myself better to the community projects undertaken by the department of Sociology. I look forward to studying about the political behavior of large American companies under professor Mark S. Mizruchi.

The opportunity to conduct independent research through tThe Sociology Undergraduate Research Opportunity program is especially exciting. I will be able will allows me to learn in detail more about a specific topic in the discipline as well as practice sociological research methods by assisting a faculty member or a graduate student with their ongoing research projects. It will also help me transform textual theories into practical application. At University of Michigan I know that I will be receiving education from able to study bbeyond just the classestraditional courses.

Following the UWC mission of making a difference in the world, I would be pleased to work at the Ginsberg Center and develop connections with international NGO’s whileand actively engaginge in social justice causes. The myriad of opportunities available outside the campus boundaries would help me broaden my horizons with full support from my Newnan Advising Center advisor. The intimate classroom environment will allow me to make the best of my opportunities.
