STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Each one finds a way to reach his goal some way or the other; employing some means or the other. And as far as I am concerned, my objective can only be achieved by studying Business Administration at the Post-graduate level that would give me the means to attain my objectives.

I as an individual always had a keen interest in studying MBA from a reputed institution after graduation. But fate had something different in store for me. Being in the criminal justice department of my state Goa , was always one of my priorities. So after completing my basic education till graduation, I went onto join Maharashtra Police Academy at Nasik . After successfully clearing the examination of Prob. Police Sub – Inspector Cadets, I Joint the Goa Police Force. I served as a Police Sub Inspector from May 1997 to March 2005. Due to my dedication and sincerity towards my work I was promoted to the level of a Police Inspector. After around 8 years of work experience, I have learnt the traits of a thorough profession. Be it a business house or a police department, qualities like discipline, punctuality, courage and perseverance are the key factors of accomplishment in life. What one has to look forward is improving the goodwill of the unit one is associated with and expecting nothing but the profit of the company or department you are employed with.
I am proud that my 8 years of service with the Police Department has inculcated all these qualities within me. But in order to gain perfection, I want to pursue my degree in Master in Business Administration, as a degree in it would help me to put into use its tactics in the criminal justice department. I have realized that it is never too late to chase your dreams. Hence I wish to look forward for my post graduate studies.

Since Indian Institutes are not very advanced in this department of study I am more than ready to travel across the seas for my higher education.

I have chosen to return to school and pursue a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice for a couple of reasons. The first reason is to increase my personal knowledge of the Criminal Justice system which includes police trends, criminal/civil courts, juvenile justice and other aspects of law enforcement. During my experience as commissioned officer for the past four years I have learned that in order to consider myself as an experienced officer and train others in law enforcement, I have to increase my knowledge base in all areas of Criminal Justice through education. This would give me credibility if I chose to be a Field Training Officer or an instructor at a law enforcement training academy. In order for me to be confident in a supervisory position…
