These are: •Module 1: The relationship between the press and the public and looks at phone-hacking and other potentially illegal behaviour. •Module 2: The relationships between the press and police and the extent to which that has operated in the public interest. •Module 3: The relationship between press and politicians. •Module 4: Recommendations for a more effective policy and regulation that supports the integrity and freedom of the press while encouraging the highest ethical standards.
Personal Development Portfolio

The purpose of the Personal Development Portfolio is to enable you to reflect on your learning and the application of theory to practice.

It is to enable you to reflect on your own personal development and understanding over time. To be aware of the complexity and inter-relationships between topics, issues, and practice and relate them to your own experiences.

To demonstrate competence in the application of software tools to business problems.

It is expected that the main focus will be on activities associated with the BTT module, but relevant experiences and activities within other modules, paid and unpaid work, membership of clubs etc can provide evidence of your skills, abilities and practical applications of your learning.

An expected benefit is that in future, you will enable you to clearly and concisely give examples of relevant experience and skills when applying for jobs and further qualifications.

The assessment of this PDP contributes 30% of the marks in Business Tools and Techniques

The main sections within the PDP are:
A personal development record (30%)
A Reflective Log (30%)
An Information Technology Competence Portfolio (40%)

Please read Appendix 4 “Generic Assessment Grid for Undergraduate programmes” which indicates how marks are allocated.
