Here are some examples of research questions, to illustrate the kind of focus of your project might take. Do woman make less money that men? If so why? What are some differences that distinguished juvenile gangs formed within different ethic groups? Which academic departments at your college offer the broadest degree of liberal arts training? Is it true as some suggest, that the United States was establish as a Christian nation? What are the major functions of the American family and how have those been changing overtime? Are official attempt to control illegal drugs use succeeding or failing? Do undocumented immigration overall represent a net economic cost or benefit to the United States?
The subject of this book is how we find to about social reality. Much of what we know by agreement rather than experiment. Scientists accept an agreement reality but have special standards for doing so. The science of knowing is called epistemology the science of finding out is called methodology. Inquiry is a natural human activity. Much of ordinary human inquiry seek to explain events and predict future events.
