Smartthink Reflection
When I submitted my paper to Smartthinking for review I was certain there would be a few corrections presented and I would simply apply those minor tweaks to my work and I would move on to the next week a little more prepared than I was at the beginning of Unit 1. I was amazed at some of the suggestions. I am also amazed at how those suggestions made my paper a much better piece of writing.

I corrected my paper utilizing those suggestions and submitted it to Paperrater to be graded further. It still had some suggestions to make, however, not all of those were correct. Even though some were correct the user still needs to read the suggestions to make sure that those corrections are, in fact, proper corrections for our papers. Sometimes it

Although my introduction was good, this paper had a variety of mistakes. As I was looking over the paper and seeing what was written from peer review day, I realized that there were a lot of careless mistakes. I looked at both the review from the first and the second drafts to see if I had missed anything. One comment from my reviewer was that I had a lot of repetition. I saw that this paper was very repetitive. I went through and hopefully corrected all of those errors. The font on my paper was not in any form of being right. I am pretty sure that this time I have it right. There were also some punctuation errors that I saw and corrected. I am hoping that I have proofread this paper enough to catch any mistakes that I made in the previous draft.…

I think that now I write papers more structured and organized rather than throwing all of my ideas down on the paper. In the future, I think that I will seek feedback by asking a friend to proof read my work or by going to the ask center for help after I have read it aloud several times. If I need more feedback I could talk to my professor and see what his expectations are and what I can improve on. Overall, the experience that I had with all of my proof reading and feedback resources was positive. I think that I have learned more about my habits, which have helped me improve my writing skills in…

This week I worked with the grant writing team to source potential funding opportunities in target areas and revise draft grants before submission. In the process of sourcing, I learned how to use the subscription services FoundationSearch and RelSci. Basically, this week involved a lot of reading and judgement calls. In particular, I was sourcing in the city of Chicago; I did not know how Jewish oriented the city is before this research. Ultimately, we found our organization to be more compatible with the foundations of for-profit companies such as AT&T.…
