Lebron has made some excellent highlights in his career so far, but as of now MJ has created more tremendous ones. One of the most memorable was “The Flu Game.” With a 103 fever and battling the flu, Jordan managed to score 38 points and earn the win in Game 5 of the 1997 Finals. Jordan could barely keep himself standing upright, in one instance he leaned on Scottie Pippen walking to the bench. In the 1988 NBA dunk contest, Jordan jumped from the free-throw line and dunked the ball. He soared through the air, and the fans went bonkers. This dunk cannot be performed by many athletes of today’s world. He started a trend that may never stop. Probably the most memorable was “The Clincher.” Down 86-85 in Game 6 of the Finals, Jordan had the ball with 5.7 seconds. He crossed over, and made the defender fall to his knees. He shot it, and it was all net. That shot clinched his 6th NBA Final ring. Lebron has made some tremendous highlights but nothing compares to these historic highlights from the greatest ever, Air…

The media have been talking about his recent decision to play for the Warriors because they are already a great team. Sports Illustrated says “It’s true that Kevin Durant can do whatever he wants with his career and his life. But this is also true: We do not have to care, or even watch. As long as we do, we are entitled to opinions about what he does, and I think his move to Golden State Warriors stinks. Following Michael Jordans footsteps again, Rose became the first NBA all-star on the Bulls since Jordan was named an all-star in 1998. Rose’s third season could be considered his most successful, one of his best games was on January 17 2011. I remember sitting upstairs at my house, wearing my cobalt blue Adidas DRose 2.5s, watching the Bulls play the Grizzlies. The whole game Derrick seemed to be controlling the court, he flew up and down the light colored hardwood finding many creative ways to put the little orange ball in the little orange hoop. Derrick finished with 22 points, 10 rebounds, and 12 assists, recording his first triple double. I was amazed by his performance and began to watch as many Bull’s games as I could, just to see him play. After more great performances Rose lead his Bulls team to a 62-20 record and Derrick won the NBA’s most valuable player award. At age 22 Derrick Rose was the youngest person to ever be named the MVP of the league, breaking a 47 year old record. When he won the MVP he inspired me by the way he overcame a hard situation to become one of the greatest athletes in the NBA and he also made me believe that if I worked hard like he did I could accomplish my…

“The Book of Basketball: The NBA According to the Sports Guy” by Bill Simmons, was a book only the Sports Guy could write. Save a few hundred pages for Simmons to inform the readers on how he became the basketball and Celtics fan he is today (hint: it was his dad choosing between a motorcycle and season tickets to the Celtics), why as a child he called himself Jabaal Abdul-Simmons, footnotes galore, his hatred for Isiah Thomas and Wilt Chamberlain, and many of the greatest “What-if’s” in basketball history. Other than that, Bill Simmons uses this behemoth of a book to indulge on his version of “The Secret” of basketball, winning championships, and gives his take on how the NBA Hall of Fame should be constructed. In a pyramid style ranking with five levels Bill Simmons has who he thinks should be where, as of 2009, and each level getting smaller and smaller due to the higher standard. It all ends with the 12 best of all time, sitting atop the pyramid like kings with Michael Jordan number one. Again there was no one other than Simmons to write this book. “You could dress me red, drop in into a Crips neighborhood, tell me that I have 12 minutes to start a high-caliber NBA conversation before somebody puts a cap in my ass...and I would…
