Instead, improving the health and wellness of society is and should always be the main concern. A student, at any age, is taught certain principles that are hopefully carried over into their adult lives. Concepts like honesty, determination, and a solid work ethic help the child through school, and incorporate into a better society after the education is…

“Education is the transmission to civilization.” From the start of kindergarten kids are required to begin being educated. This is the period where a person begins to learn their very first skills of life. From this time until the age of 18, education becomes a part of life, if so chose. Today in our society education is being more stressed on the younger generations, in order to be able to make a decent financial living. As we become more technology dependent and everyday essential prices increase, the only option many have is to further their education to be able to make a substantial income. If a person at the age of 16 so decides that school is not going well, they do not enjoy it, or want to continue with it any longer they have the right to drop out. Based on my experience at that age, as well as many others of whom I know, giving up or dropping out is the easiest way to get out of something. If we raise the age limit to 18, it pushes them to keep going. School is like a marathon. Except in this marathon you have the choice to not go to the finish line if you don't want to, and instead stop at the marker before it. If we increase the age limit we can push teenagers to stay in school and give them more of a chance to embrace learning.…

By lowering the drinking age to 18 we can stop the overuse of alcohol and prevent diseases in the later years of the young adults life. If the age is lowered to 18 the kids will not be “all over” the alcohol at the sight of it. They do this because they cannot get it themselves so they aren’t sure when they will see it again so they just get to the alcohol and start drinking as much as they can. If we lower the age to 18 then they will be able to buy the alcohol themselves so they don’t have to gulp it as soon as they see it because they know they can get it themselves. This will help to prevent the disease of alcoholism in life later on. We can also stop the act of binge drinking by lowering the drinking age to 18. Most students binge drink because they cannot be seen with alcohol in public with alcohol because they are underage. Instead they just drink a lot in a small amount of time to get drunk before the party so they don’t have to carry around the alcohol this way. If the drinking age is lowered then the student can carry around a beer in public and will not have to indulge in binge drinking. By doing this it will prevent the disease of alcohol poisoning and will also stop many deaths caused by this disease. Binge drinking by students is the number one cause of alcohol poisoning in young adult teens because of the fact that they cannot be seen with alcohol in public.…

Most importantly, I believe children should not graduate at the age of 16. When Botstein said, “Young people should graduate at 16 rather than 18,” he was saying that we should not keep teenagers in school for two extra years when they don’t really need to be in a school that is just general education and not helping them to develop their specific talents. But, for us to do this we would have to start with the preschoolers. Teach them things that they would previously have learned as a kindergartener and so forth. The curriculum would have to speed way up to be able to teach the students everything that they need to learn before they graduate. In each class, most of the time, there is at least one kid who is slow in learning the material, so you need to have time to explain it to them. As an example, when you speed up the curriculum more kids will fall behind and when you do not understand one thing you will not understand the rest. In addition, the kids who are 16 would not be ready to graduate yet; because they have not been taught the necessary skills they need to survive in the real world. This argument of Botstein’s is based on the best kids at the best schools. For example, there are a couple of…

Also, lowering the voting age would allow youth to show what they know in the outside world. With showing what we know, the schools could get good credit for the education that the students get.
