Should Basketball Uniforms Be Paid?
Someone once said, “When you feel like quitting think about why you started”. Many people don’t realize the smaller concerns in sports that people need to know about the sport they play. Sports have essential uniforms, positions, and playing surfaces to the game. Uniforms are one of the many elements sportsmen need to know about their sport. When participating in sports the uniform must be correct or there could be a chance that the player can’t play in the game because of different requirements. The playing surface that the sportsmen play on should be something to know about too. If the surface isn’t correct it could be dangerous to the player. The positions in different sports have different requirements for each position. Although basketball …show more content…
Soccer players have different parts to their uniform. One of the most important parts of what a player has to wear for a sport is their shoes. When playing soccer, the player should be wearing cleats. Soccer cleats are a requirement for this sport. The spikes on the bottom of the shoe have traction for in the sport, or running on the field and they help with quick stops and turns. Wearing shin guards is another requirement for participating in soccer. When playing, soccer gets aggressive, therefor the players need protection on them. Shin protection is the biggest because in the sport, sportsmen can only play with their feet and they could get kicked. Long socks are usually needed to play this sport too. Having long socks help with holding the player's shin guards in place. When playing soccer, the clothing is light weight. Soccer involves a lot of running. In this case, players want to have lightweight shorts and shirts to move …show more content…
For example, in basketball there are ten players on the court at one time but five players for each team. There are two posts, two wings and one point guard for each team. Posts are usually the taller players and they can move around the key well. Wings are a middle position and they usually are a good outside shooter and the most athletic. The point guard is the best ball handler and are usually a shorter player. Unlike in basketball, there are twenty two players on the field at once but eleven for each team. There are four defenders, three midfielders (wings), three forwards, and one goalie. Similar to basketball, the defenders have to protect the goal and goalie player so that the other team can’t kick the ball in the net. The midfielders play both offense and defence depending on which side they are on. -not finished typing

This one I’m 110% sure that you’ve experienced. Getting stepped on, gotta love it. No matter what position you play, it’s likely that you’ve been stepped on in some way (most likely on your foot). It’s something that’s really unpreventable, you’re dribbling the ball down the middle of the field, a defender comes out trying to steal the ball and their foot gets implanted over yours. It’d be nothing serious except for the fact that every player on the field is required to wear soccer cleats. Considering that we only have shin guards as protection, it kind of sucks. Except for the padding in the actual cleats there’s no way for us to really prevent getting stepped on. Either way I’ve got to say, it could be a lot worse. Professional soccer players wear METAL cleats. I’ve been stepped on with regular plastic and rubber studs, I can only imagine what kind of pain they go through.…

Now that you have an idea of the rules of professional soccer, I will continue to explain the popularity and passion of the game. Soccer is very widely played all over the world. The most prestigious international soccer competition is that of the world cup, held every four years, it lasts about a month, the most recent one being held in South Africa world cup 2010. With more than a billion viewers a day and tuned in to approximately 30 billion times, it is more popular than the Super Bowl, the World Series, the Masters, and the NBA finals. One reason many researchers believe it is so popular, especially in third world countries is because of the lack of things needed in order to play. All you need is a goal and a ball. According to “ The Evolution of the Soccer Uniform” says that in the 1848 players would just wear a white shirt, long trousers, and colorful hats or scarves to distinguish between the competing teams. It wasn't until around 1870 that the public demanded that the teams would wear clothing that was more like uniforms. It wasn’t until the mid 1900’s the fabric of the uniforms was athletic fabric that was lighter and more breathable. Then by the 1960’s soccer uniforms really began to resemble the athletic apparel seen on the field today. Over the next couple of decades, jerseys became more and more commercialized as teams sold replicas of signature jerseys from notable players.
