Divorce is always painful, but that only with the adults. How do the kids feel? Divorce is usually stressful for children. “Most children do not want their parents to divorce (unless the marriage was full of intense conflict and anger or other sources of misery not suitable for children)” (Laumann 2000). Kids tend to blame themselves for the divorce. “Some kids become bitter-sweet because they feel betrayed” (Children-divorce.com 2017). Children often experience short term negative affects due to divorce such as depression, becoming aggressive, and feeling guilty.
