It goes to the story that Mr. Katagiri believe that he is not important to anyone and he helped so many people but still he was unappreciated by them. When he met Frog he feels that for the first time in his life someone values him because frog boost his confidence by telling him great things about him. We know that Frog is only his hallucination that’s why the one who really values him is none other than himself. In A.B Yehoshua’s novel,The Lover, a chain of first person monologues are described. These monologues are set up in a mixture of flashbacks and conflicts that the characters undergo. This unique structure gives the novel a special meaning towards its description of the characters, and the story itself. For example, the character Asya is described to be a very hardworking independent woman. But, she has a odd relationship with her husband, Adam, who is a diligent man in charge of a successful mechanics garage. Throughout the story Adam and Asya never, hug never kiss, and they barley speak to one another. Meaning that this structure lets The Lover symbolize the loneliness and insufficient amount of recognition towards each of the characters. For instance, Daffi, the daughter of Asya and Adam, is a teenage girl in lack of attention. So, because of her parents barely paying any type of attention to her, she spends her time wandering the streets most of the day trying to keep herself productive by either stalking people or just walking around. After awhile, she then begins to connect with her fathers worker, Na’im, who also is alone and has no attention from anyone, and in the end they both fall in love. This basically shows how this novel details the meaning of loneliness and the importance of love.…

There was a faint buzzing sound then the frog was gone as quickly as it had come. Silence once again fell on the river much to Lennie’s disappointment, he liked not having to think of the mornings happenings.…

The author is trying to portray and mindset of how you people deal with depression, learn to love yourself, and if you stand for nothing you will fall for anything. Many of us go thru this during high school the fear of not being popular and having much insecurity to the point of us barely going to school and/or talking to others in school. It’s an image of how teens deal with problems throughout high school and outside lives and how it can take them to doing things of stupidity to feel loved.…
